This morning I had the privilege of presenting a lecture at the University of Pretoria for the Postgraduate Diploma in Paediatric Dentistry students on bruxism in children and the management thereof. 🦷

It is always a pleasure to share knowledge, discuss clinical experiences, and contribute to continued learning in paediatric dentistry.

🎥🦷 Lights, camera… Guided Biofilm Therapy! ✨
What a long but incredibly rewarding filming day at First Smiles! Today we had the opportunity to showcase our EMS machine and Guided Biofilm Therapy and share why we are so passionate about comfortable, preventative dental care for children.
A huge thank you to everyone involved — gbt_academy, ivodentsa, Esda, Lee, Luther and Eliza. You are all absolute stars and the camera definitely captured every moment! 🌟
Days like these remind us how special it is to work with people who are passionate about improving children’s dental experiences and making oral health care gentle, positive, and fun.
Now for some well-deserved rest after a very full day! 😅🦷

I just received my custom water bottle — and of course it had to include teeth and represent our practice, First Smiles.
Being able to care for children’s smiles every day is something I’m incredibly grateful for. Dentistry isn’t just a profession for me — it’s a passion.

🦷 World Oral Health Day – 20 March 🌍
In this video I’m sharing simple tips and tricks to help prevent tooth decay.
The good news is that most cavities can be avoided with the right daily habits at home.
Small things make a big difference:
• Use a soft toothbrush and brush gently but thoroughly
• Brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste
• Clean between the teeth every day with floss
• You can even place a little toothpaste on the floss to help clean and protect between the teeth
• Try to limit sugary snacks and drinks during the day
• Avoid constant snacking, because teeth need time to recover between meals
• Regular dental check-ups help us find problems early before they become painful
Healthy habits at home are the most important part of keeping teeth strong.
World Oral Health Day, supported by the FDI World Dental Federation, reminds us that prevention always starts with the small things we do every day.
Healthy smiles start at home. 😁
