Orthodontic Appliances are devices that the Orthodontist attaches to the teeth or to the braces brackets. They might be fixed in place with cement, or removable. Orthodontists use Appliances to help to move the teeth, keep the teeth in place, or change the shape of the jaw. Some examples of Orthodontic Appliances are Bite Plates, Palate Expanders, Elastics, Coil Springs, and Retainers.

𝐆𝐮𝐦/𝐌𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬: Design and Manufacturing of Gum/Mouth Guards.

A Gum/Mouth guard is an appliance designed from dental models of your teeth and made of rigid plastic. It covers either your upper or lower and or both teeth and prevents the teeth from coming together while sleeping at night. It also provides a guide for your jaw so that muscles can relax and bite problems will not trigger the bruxing action.

𝐁𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐬: Design and Manufacturing of Bleaching Trays.

Bleaching trays are plastic retainers made using models of your teeth that hold whitening (bleach) gel. Each tray is custom-made to fit over the user’s upper and lower teeth “like a glove.” To perform treatments, the user places whitening gel in the trays and then seats them over their teeth according to the whitening gel manufacturer’s instructions.

A bite plate is a small, acrylic appliance worn in the mouth to separate the jaws so that some of the teeth will gradually shift upward or downward. They can be worn to help correct deep bites and to help make the lower arch level so that the upper front teeth don’t overlap so deeply over the lower teeth.

Anti-Snoring Appliances is a new intraoral device especially indicated for the treatment of snoring and sleep apnea syndrome. It consists of two splints united to each other by a screw that allows controlled and comfortable advancement of the mandible by the increase of the muscular tone at the airway level. They are also called Mandibular Advancement Splints (MAS) or Mandibular Advancement Devices (MAD) or Mandibular Repositioning Appliances (MRA).
