Who says Orthotics have to be boring?

These colourful bilateral hinged AFOs were custom made to provide the stability, alignment, and controlled movement our patient needs while allowing them to express a little personality with every step.

A hinged AFO helps support the ankle and foot while permitting controlled ankle motion. This can improve walking efficiency, reduce fatigue, enhance stability, and promote a more natural gait pattern. Every Orthosis is individually designed to match the patient’s diagnosis, functional goals, and lifestyle.

Old School in New School Waters

Not every patient wants the latest technology, and that is perfectly okay.

This gentleman has been living with an above knee amputation for more than 30 years. While modern suspension systems such as silicone pin lock liners and suction suspension offer excellent comfort and security for many amputees, they are not the right choice for everyone.

After decades of using a traditional waist belt suspension, it remains the system he knows, trusts, and feels confident wearing every day. Rather than forcing change, we believe in providing solutions that suit the individual.

At Orthocare, our goal is not simply to fit the newest technology. Our goal is to fit the right technology for each patient’s lifestyle, experience, confidence, and personal preferences.

Sometimes, the best solution is the one that has stood the test of time.

Foot alignment matters—especially when diabetes is in the picture.
This patient has a sublaxated talar joint, which pushed his ankle into a valgus position and shifted all his weight to the outside of his foot. Not ideal for anyone, and especially risky for someone with diabetes. One wrong pressure point could result in a serious complication.

We designed a custom CROW (Charcot Restraint Orthotic Walker) boot to take the pressure off, guide his heel back into alignment, and protect his foot. No anterior pressure, just clever straps doing the job.
