Dental emergencies don’t always happen during normal practice hours — which is why it helps to know what support is available.

Family Dental Practice offers a limited emergency dental service for selected urgent cases over weekends and public holidays. This is not a 24-hour service, and an additional call-out fee applies.

Emergency service hours:
Saturday: 13:00–16:00
Sunday: 10:00–16:00
Public Holidays: 13:00–16:00

Dental Assistant — Full-Time Position | Linksfield Branch

Our busy Linksfield branch is looking for a vibrant, well-presented and efficient individual to join our team as a Dental Assistant. HPCSA registration is a prerequisite.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Dental Assistant / Girl Friday, you'll work closely with our dentists on clinical support and administrative duties, including:
- Chairside assisting during all dental procedures
- Preparing patients for treatment and ensuring patient comfort
- Sterilisation and infection control in accordance with practice protocols
- Preparing and maintaining treatment rooms before and after procedures
- Handling, cleaning and maintaining dental instruments and equipment
- Scheduling patient appointments
- Stock control of clinical materials and supplies
- Assisting with dental records, charting and capturing treatment notes where required
- Ensuring strict adherence to patient confidentiality and practice standards

What We're Looking For:
- Dedication and long-term commitment
- Exceptional organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
- Flexibility, initiative and good judgement
- Warm interpersonal skills with patients and staff — professional, caring, compassionate and friendly
- Diplomacy and a strong understanding of patient and practice confidentiality
- Computer literacy; experience with Exact Dental Software is an advantage
