Personalized Planning — Long-term Responsibility

You want dental implants. You've made the decision, prepared your time and budget, and you're ready to replace your missing teeth.

But what if your implant dentist says:

“Not yet.”

In some cases, a responsible implant dentist may actually recommend delaying treatment — or even refusing to place an implant — because the conditions are not yet right for a predictable, long-term result.

In this video, we explain 6 important reasons why a dentist may say NO or NOT YET to dental implants, including:

00:00 — Why we sometimes refuse to place dental implants
01:00 — An implant is not simply “putting in a screw”
02:00 — Reason #1: Active infection or gum disease
04:00 — Reason #2: Not enough suitable bone
06:00 — Reason #3: Your overall health may not be suitable yet
08:00 — Reason #4: Smoking and dental implants
11:00 — Reason #5: Are you ready to maintain your implant?
12:30 — Reason #6: There isn't a clear restorative treatment plan
14:00 — “Can we do it?” vs. “Should we do it?”
15:00 — Why saying “no” today doesn't mean “never”

Before getting dental implants, it's important to understand that successful implant treatment depends on much more than the implant itself.

Your bone, gums, oral hygiene, overall health, smoking habits, bite, treatment plan and long-term maintenance all need to be considered.

And having insufficient bone, gum disease, diabetes, smoking habits or another medical condition does not automatically mean you can never have dental implants. In many situations, the first step is to control the risk factors, prepare the oral environment, allow healing, and then reassess.
At LAC VIET INTECH DENTAL CENTER, our goal is not simply to place an implant because we can.

Our goal is to determine:

Is this the right time?
Is this the right position?
Is the bone ready?
Are the gums healthy?
Is the infection under control?
Is the patient's health suitable?
Can the patient maintain the result long term?

Because at the end of the day…

the goal isn't:

“We successfully placed an implant.”

The goal is:

“We helped the patient achieve a healthy, functional result that can be maintained for the long term.”

Missing a tooth and wondering whether you should choose a dental implant or a dental bridge?

This is one of the most common questions patients ask before replacing a missing tooth. While both treatments can restore your smile, they work in very different ways—and choosing the wrong option could affect your oral health for many years.

In this evidence-based video, our implant specialist compares dental implants vs dental bridges, explaining the advantages, disadvantages, long-term outcomes, and which option may be best for different clinical situations.

In this video, you'll learn:

✅ What is the difference between a dental implant and a dental bridge?

✅ Why a traditional bridge may require reshaping healthy teeth

✅ What is a Maryland Bridge?

✅ What is the "Biological Cost" of dental treatment?

✅ Why modern dentistry focuses on preserving healthy natural teeth

✅ Are dental implants really worth the higher cost?

✅ Is implant surgery painful?

✅ Can dental implants fail?

✅ When is a dental bridge actually the better option?

✅ Which treatment lasts longer?

Rather than promoting one treatment over another, this video explains the scientific evidence behind both options so you can make an informed decision together with your dentist.

Whether you're considering tooth replacement, dental implants, or a dental bridge, this guide will help you understand which treatment is right for your unique situation.

What happens when you travel thousands of kilometres to another country for dental treatment?

For this Australian couple, the decision to come to Vietnam was not simply about finding a more reasonable price.

They did extensive research. They compared their options. And they had concerns — especially because the husband had previously experienced problems with dental implants in Australia.

Before treatment, they spoke with the dental team online, discussed their concerns, reviewed their X-rays, and met with the dental specialist and anaesthetist after arriving in Hanoi.

In this honest patient interview, they share what the experience was really like — from the initial fear and anxiety to treatment, recovery, follow-up care, and the final result.

They talk openly about:

• Why they chose Vietnam for dental treatment
• How they researched the dental clinic before travelling
• Their concerns about dental implants
• His previous bad implant experience in Australia
• How the dental team helped manage his anxiety
• Meeting the dental specialist and anaesthetist
• Their experience during treatment
• Pain and recovery after the procedure
• Follow-up care after treatment
• Whether the treatment plan changed after arriving in Vietnam
• How they felt about the final result

One of the most powerful moments comes when the patient is asked to rate his overall experience out of 100.

His answer?

“100.”

But perhaps the most meaningful part of their story is not the rating.

It is the trust they developed throughout the entire journey.

What would an implant dentist NEVER do to their own teeth?

Before choosing a dental implant, most patients ask about the price, the implant brand, the procedure, or how quickly they can get their new tooth.

But an implant dentist thinks about something very different:

What happens years after treatment?

In this video, we reveal things an implant dentist would never do to their own teeth — and the reasons behind each decision.

From choosing an implant based on price alone to ignoring smoking, poor diagnosis, bite problems, maintenance, and rushing treatment, these are mistakes that can potentially affect the long-term success of dental implant treatment.

You'll learn why an implant dentist would NEVER:

• Choose a dental implant simply because it's cheaper
• Get an implant without proper diagnosis and treatment planning
• Ignore early dental problems
• Assume every missing tooth automatically needs an implant
• Smoke and expect it to have no effect on healing
• Stop caring for an implant after the crown is placed
• Ignore their bite or excessive forces
• Choose a treatment simply because it's trending
• Rush treatment just because they want new teeth faster

Most importantly, you'll learn how dentists think differently about dental implants, bone, gums, bite, treatment planning, healing, maintenance, and long-term results.

Because the best dental implant isn't necessarily the cheapest, fastest, or most beautiful option.

The better question is:

“What would an experienced implant dentist choose if this were their own teeth?”

If you're considering dental implants, this video can help you understand the questions you should ask before making your decision.

Are you worried about what happens after dental implant surgery?

Mild pain, swelling, bleeding, or bruising can be a normal part of dental implant recovery—but how do you know what's normal and what's a warning sign?

In this video, our dentist explains what you should expect after dental implant surgery, how dental implants heal, and the important signs that may require immediate professional attention.

You'll learn:

🦷 Can your body really reject a dental implant?

🦷 Does getting a dental implant hurt?

🦷 How much pain and discomfort is normal after implant surgery?

🦷 Why mild swelling and slight bleeding can be part of normal healing

🦷 When swelling or pain may indicate a problem

🦷 Warning signs you should never ignore after dental implant surgery

🦷 What pus, bad odor, drainage, or persistent fever could mean

🦷 Why prolonged numbness of the lip, chin, or tongue should be evaluated

🦷 When a dental implant can be placed immediately after tooth extraction

🦷 Why your dentist's experience and treatment planning matter more than the implant brand

🦷 How long can a dental implant last?

🦷 How proper oral hygiene and regular follow-up can help protect your implant for years to come

Dental implants are designed to provide a long-term solution for missing teeth. However, successful treatment depends on several factors, including proper diagnosis, treatment planning, surgical technique, healing, oral hygiene, and regular maintenance.

If you're considering dental implants or are currently recovering from implant surgery, understanding the normal healing process can help you avoid unnecessary anxiety—and recognize when professional dental care is needed.

Remember: every patient is different. Your dentist should evaluate your bone quality, gum health, overall oral condition, and individual treatment needs before determining the most appropriate treatment.

In this video, meet Kareem, an American patient from the Pacific Northwest who traveled to Hanoi, Vietnam for dental treatment after living with four missing molars for more than 10 years.
For years, Kareem avoided replacing his missing teeth because of the high cost of dental implants in the United States. As time went on, his missing teeth began affecting his ability to chew and his overall quality of life.
Before choosing LAC VIET INTECH DENTAL CENTER, Kareem did extensive research. He contacted 10–15 dental clinics, had consultations with six different dentists, received different treatment opinions and compared different prices.

What treatment did he receive?
Kareem received:
• 4 dental implants to replace his missing molars
• Sinus lift
• Bone grafting
• Implant surgery completed in approximately 2 hours
What makes his story especially interesting is that Kareem was extremely nervous about dental surgery. He was afraid of needles, blood and invasive procedures, and his blood pressure was initially too high for surgery.

But after the procedure, his experience was very different from what he expected.

“What was I so nervous for?”
In this honest patient interview, Kareem talks about:
• Why he lived with missing teeth for more than 10 years
• How missing teeth affected eating and daily life
