Preventative dentistry is too personal for us.
Dr. Orlosky has a family history of colon cancer, bowel disease, and gum disease that hits close to home. Research continues to uncover links between oral bacteria and systemic health, and he's not willing to wait and see. Salivary testing gives him the information he needs to be proactive about his health — and he wants the same for his patients.
Dr. Roche comes from a family with a tough dental history. His grandfather lost his teeth to chronic periodontitis, and his father has battled a lifetime of cavities and failing restorations despite excellent home care — eventually losing several teeth to extractions, needing implants.
Dr. Roche has fought the same uphill battle: multiple cavities, three crowns, and a tendency to build up tartar quickly. He knows firsthand that good habits aren't always enough — which is exactly why he decided to get salivary testing done himself.
As dental professionals we know:
1. Harmful bacteria can be present with little-to-no symptoms.
2. Even dental professionals are not immune to genetic risk factors.
3. There is strong evidence that connects oral bacteria to cancers, bowel disease, Alzheimer's, heart disease, and more!
4. We have the tools and knowledge to help manage bacteria and lower risk factors for systemic disease and tooth loss
A saliva test only costs $104. That includes appointment, collection supplies, laboratory feels, and shipping costs.
