Being with her until the very end reminded me of something far greater than loss.

We never truly know what another person is carrying.

Behind every title, every profession, every smile, every conversation, there is a human being living a story we cannot see.

Grief has a way of reminding us that life is fragile and hearts are often breaking quietly behind the scenes.

Perhaps that is why kindness matters so much.

Not because everyone is kind to us.

But because we never know what someone else is enduring when our words reach them.

Before we judge, retaliate, or choose to wound another person because we ourselves are hurting, may we remember that every person we meet is fighting a battle invisible to us.

Today, I am not just a dentist.

I am someone mourning sixteen years of unconditional love.

Thank you, Sylvia, for teaching me—until your very last breath—that love always leaves us better than resentment ever could.
