Being with her until the very end reminded me of something far greater than loss.

We never truly know what another person is carrying.

Behind every title, every profession, every smile, every conversation, there is a human being living a story we cannot see.

Grief has a way of reminding us that life is fragile and hearts are often breaking quietly behind the scenes.

Perhaps that is why kindness matters so much.

Not because everyone is kind to us.

But because we never know what someone else is enduring when our words reach them.

Before we judge, retaliate, or choose to wound another person because we ourselves are hurting, may we remember that every person we meet is fighting a battle invisible to us.

Today, I am not just a dentist.

I am someone mourning sixteen years of unconditional love.

Thank you, Sylvia, for teaching me—until your very last breath—that love always leaves us better than resentment ever could.

Watching my son Matthew compete at the Katie Ledecky Invitational is something I’ll carry with me.

Katie Ledecky—Olympic champion and world record holder—walked through and cheered the young athletes, and I stood there holding back tears.

What hit me wasn’t just the moment, but the journey behind it. Success isn’t one big leap. It’s built quietly, through small, deliberate steps taken day after day. This is how I try to live my own life and the mindset I bring into my conversations with patients.

Swimming shows that truth so clearly—steady effort, patience, and commitment over time.

As we step into the New Year, this feels like the right reminder: success is predictable. Commit to your health. Small steps matter. 💙🏊‍♂️

She Could Be Someone’s Daughter. Someone’s Mother. Someone’s Friend.

Pain and suffering wear many faces — addiction, illness, loss, poverty — but the ache, loneliness, and need for love feel the same.

In Kensington, women live in the shadows. They once had dreams, laughter, and a place to call home.

We’re assembling hygiene kits — toothpaste, toothbrushes, feminine care items, deodorant — simple essentials we often take for granted. For someone who has lost everything, these bring dignity, comfort, and a reminder they are not invisible.

We don’t do this because it solves everything, but because every act of kindness matters. In despair, kindness plants a seed of hope.
