Growth matters. Timing matters. ✨

This 8-year-old patient is a great example of why early orthodontic evaluation can be so valuable. Through orthopedic growth modification and expansion, we were able to guide developing facial and jaw growth while creating more space for the permanent teeth.

Early treatment isn’t simply about making teeth look straighter. In the right patient, it can help improve function, dental health, jaw relationships, and the dimensions of the nasal/oral airway—while taking advantage of growth that is already happening.

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children have their first orthodontic evaluation by age 7. That doesn’t mean every 7-year-old needs treatment. In fact, many don’t. It means we can identify developing problems early, monitor growth, and determine the best timing for treatment when intervention could be beneficial.

If your child is 7 or older and hasn’t had an orthodontic screening yet, we’d love to meet them at DCO Orthodontic Specialists.
