Wolcott Dentistry was founded in 1964 by Dr. Herb Mason. In 1968, Dr. Mason moved the practice to its current location at 6010 Draper Street. For a short time, Dr. Mason was forced to work out of his house on Wright Street after a lightning strike cau
ght the roof on fire. On August 10, 1993, sale of a portion of the practice to Dr. William H. A year later, Dr. Pugh purchased the remainder of the practice and has been in solo practice at the same location since that time. Meet Dr. Pugh
Dr. Pugh grew up in Pittsford, NY, the son of William and Eleanor Pugh, both school principals in the City of Rochester. He graduated from Pittsford Sutherland High School where he played hockey for the varsity squad for 3 years. Following high school, Dr. Pugh first attended Hobart College and graduated with a BA in Philosophy. He then attended the State University of New York at Buffalo and graduated in 1989. Following his graduation, Dr. Pugh entered into and completed the very competitive General Practice program in the US Navy at Portsmouth Naval Hospital, VA. Upon completing his residency, Dr. Pugh was assigned to the USS Rushmore LSD-47 during Operation Desert Storm. His final year in the Navy was served at the Main Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego. Dr. Pugh is a graduate of the Dawson Academy in St. Petersburg, FL. He has had extensive training in the use of a CAD/CAM or CEREC dentistry at the Scottsdale Center for Dental Excellence in Scottsdale, AZ. Dr. Pugh is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry.
