Dr. Carlos Pires has a unique experience background. After graduating from University São Francisco School of Dental Medicine in 1997, Dr. Pires went to University of Michigan in 1999 for 3 years of postgraduate training in the fields of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Orthodontics. By the time he went back to his home country, he received a specialty certificate in both Oral & Maxillofacial Surg

ery and Dental Implants (which he received a Master of Science in Dentistry certificate). Dr. Pires then decided to move to the United States and persuaded further training in Periodontology at Case Western Reserve University, where he received a certificate and another Master of Science in Dentistry. Dr. Pires has been published in numerous peer-reviewed surgical journals including The Journal of Advanced & Clinical Dentistry and Clinical Implant Dentistry and Research. He is the co-founder of the Dynamic Positive Pressure Sinus Augmentation Technique, a minimally invasive approach to sinus bone grafting. He is highly trained in dental implants and grafting techniques including the Quattro Concept, DenX/IGI, Guided Implant Surgery, in Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure (LANAP) as well as in Wilkodontics, and in the Pinhole Surgical Technique.
