Despite the understanding that oral health is an integral part of overall health, historical factors have led to its fragmentation. The separation of oral health from general healthcare has been prevalent, despite substantial evidence and data demonstrating the interconnectedness of oral health with systemic health. This historical division has contributed to the perception that oral health is a separate entity, distinct from overall health. Efforts are being made to bridge this gap and promote a more unified approach to healthcare that encompasses both oral and general health. It is important to integrate oral health into comprehensive healthcare practices, considering the strong evidence supporting its impact on overall well-being.

April marks for Oral cancer awareness month. In observance Center for Integrative Oral Health is hosting a focus group on Oral Lesions, mouth sores, oral cancer prevention. This session will include a general session chat with Dr. Jaisri Thoppay, Oral Medicine specialist. Walk-ins welcome. Oral Lesions often look the same in mouth. From the specialist eye it may not say the same story. Meet Dr. Thoppay and chat to know more about oral lesions, what are worrisome lesions and what are not.

April is Oral Cancer awareness month. Center for Integrative Oral Health is hosting a focus group event for the benefit of the community.
