😴💤 Snoring isn’t always just a “normal” part of childhood.

While occasional snoring can happen, frequent snoring may be a sign that something deeper is affecting your child’s breathing and airway health. 👃✨

Pay attention to signs like loud or even light snoring, mouth breathing, restless sleep, or difficulty staying focused during the day. These clues can help parents and providers better understand what’s happening and when to seek support. 💙

At Untied Colorado, we take a comprehensive approach to evaluating airway health and helping children breathe, sleep, and thrive. 🌱

👅✨ Your tongue does more than you may realize!

This small but powerful muscle plays an important role in many everyday functions — from helping you speak clearly and enjoy your favorite foods to supporting healthy breathing and restful sleep. 🗣️🍎💤

The position and movement of the tongue can influence oral function, swallowing patterns, and even airway health. That’s why understanding how your tongue works is an important part of looking at the bigger picture of overall wellness. 💙

At Untied Colorado, we take a comprehensive approach to understanding the connection between oral function, breathing, and health at every stage of life. 🌱

💙 Every parent wants to see their child sleep peacefully and thrive. 🌙✨

Routine dental visits can be an important part of identifying potential concerns early — especially when providers are looking beyond just teeth and considering the connection between oral function and airway health.

While your child rests, their body is working hard to grow, develop, and recharge. But sometimes, subtle signs during sleep can point to underlying airway concerns.

Things like mouth breathing, restless sleep, snoring, or changes in oral development may be clues worth discussing with your child’s healthcare team. 👃👅

By working together, parents and healthcare providers can help support healthy breathing, better sleep, and overall development. 🤍

🌙 Healthy Sleep = Healthy Development 💤

Sleep is more than just rest — it’s a critical time when your child’s body and brain grow, recover, and recharge. 🧠✨

If your little one struggles with things like frequent snoring, breathing through their mouth, restless sleep, or waking up tired, it may be a sign that their airway needs a closer look. 👀

Early awareness can help support better sleep, improved function, and a healthier future. 💙

At Untied Colorado, we take a comprehensive approach to understanding the connection between airway health, sleep, and your child’s development.

Did you know that restricted oral tissues—like a tongue-tie—can affect much more than just the mouth? 👶👅

A tongue with limited mobility may impact breathing, sleep, swallowing, speech, and even healthy growth and development. 💤💙

The good news? Early identification and treatment can support proper oral function, healthy airway development, and long-term well-being. Every child deserves the opportunity to thrive! ✨

If you have questions about your child's oral development, we're here to help. 🤍

Ever wonder how a tongue develops? 🤔

1️⃣ Week 4-6: Initial development begins.
2️⃣ Week 7-8: The tongue separates from the floor of the mouth.
3️⃣ Week 10-16: In-womb swallowing begins! 👶

Understanding this process is key to supporting oral function from the very start. 🦷

😮 Mouth breathing vs. 👃 nasal breathing may seem like a small difference, but it can have a big impact on your child's health and development.

When we breathe through our mouth, the air isn't filtered, warmed, or humidified before it reaches the lungs. Over time, that dry, unfiltered air can irritate and inflame soft tissues like the gums and tonsils.

When we breathe through our nose, the body works the way it was designed to. The air is filtered, warmed, and humidified before reaching the lungs. Nasal breathing also supports the production of nitric oxide, a molecule that acts as a powerful vasodilator—helping relax and widen blood vessels, improve circulation, and support healthy blood pressure.

🦷 For babies and young children, nasal breathing offers another important benefit: the tongue naturally rests against the roof of the mouth. This proper tongue posture helps guide healthy jaw growth and facial development while the bones are still growing.

👀 Here's something to check tonight: While your child is sleeping, is their mouth closed or slightly open? You might be surprised by what you notice.

If your child consistently breathes through their mouth—especially during sleep—it could be worth discussing with your dentist or healthcare provider. Early awareness can make a meaningful difference.
