“But won’t that baby tooth fall out anyway?” 🦷
It’s a fair question. Baby teeth help children chew, speak clearly, and hold the space adult teeth are growing into. Keeping them healthy matters for as long as they’re still doing that job.
An untreated cavity does not wait. It can become pain, an infection, or a tooth that comes out years too early. The good news is that a filling is not automatically the answer for every tooth. Your child’s dentist looks at the size of the cavity, the condition of the tooth, and how soon it’s expected to fall out on its own.
