There are times in life when thank you just doesnāt seem like enough. This is definitely one of those times.
4-5 years ago when a mentor of mine who I have the absolute utmost respect for asked me to take over as NDMOM chair I thought he was crazy, and there was no way I would be capable of such a thing. But sometimes others see potential in us that we could never see. That in itself is a gift, to recognize leaders before they recognize it themselves.
Brent Holman, thank you for believing in me, supporting me and mentoring me to be a better version of myself. You inspire me, and so many others to be and do better.
To my entire team of leads, thank you from the bottom of my heart, we could not have pulled off this event without each of you and all your hard work!
To my family and friends who traveled from all over, thank you! Your support, presence and hard work at mission is so appreciated.
To my office team and business partner who had to deal with me this last year of chaos⦠thank you!!
Itās been a year of planning, countless hours of emails, phone calls, zoom meetings, and conversations. I havenāt gone anywhere for a very long time without my mission binder and computer so I would be able to keep on top of every thing. But the last 3-4 days make it all worth it. We were able to help hundreds of patients receive much needed dental care. And as I sit here reading some of the comments from the surveys with tears running down my face over how grateful so many people were for each of the volunteers, it makes it all even more worth the time and effort it took to make this event happen.
Around 500 volunteers over 3 days worked together as a team pretty cohesively to pull this off. Grateful to be on the other side, and most grateful of all to my husband and kids who more or less had to give up their wife and mom at times so I could work on mission. Looking forward to a little more normal around here soon.
My heart is full, my mind is at peace, the relief is palpable, and my feet are tired. š Onto the next adventure where I wrap up my term for the council on dental practice. š„°
