To Our Contemporary Dental Arts Family,
I hope and pray that this correspondence finds you healthy and enjoying this early springtime.
As you know, Contemporary Dental Arts has been closed since March 17th, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This being said, please know that we are here for you if you have a dental emergency or even a question. For emergencies please call the answering service at 802-860-8009, or contact us through Podium on the website for questions. This has been an unprecedented time of change for all of us!
I want you to know that as soon as Governor Scott lifts the restriction for dental offices, sometime after May 15th, we will be ready and completely prepared to see you safely, just as always. Things may look a little different, but your entire CDA team is committed, and we will be here for you.
When you arrive, we will be managing social distancing to protect you from close contact with other patients. Penny will give you guidance when you schedule your next visit. We may ask you to relax in our “virtual reception area”(your car) until the coast is clear. We will be scanning your temperature before each appointment and we will ask that you rinse with our peroxide solution prior to each procedure.
During your hygiene and doctor visits you will notice the extra protective equipment that your provider will be wearing and medical grade HEPA air filters humming in the background. We will be wearing special masks, face shields, surgical gowns, and silly things on our heads. In between appointments, every room will be disinfected top to bottom, according to CDC and OSHA guidelines, in addition to the extensive sterilization protocol that we have always done to keep you safe. As always, your safety and well-being is our top priority!!!
Through this difficult time of isolation and introspection, I have discovered just how much we ALL need each other, and this is also why I am writing to you.
When our doors open, please don’t stay away. Please schedule to come for your restorative treatment, your smile makeover, fixing those old fillings, placing your implant, or removing that old leaky crown, and please please come for your regular preventive hygiene visits. I can assure you that you will be safer at Contemporary Dental Arts than any other dental environment. You will be able to relax and enjoy your service in a very safe and supportive dental home. It is not easy to say, but right now I need your support more than ever, if CDA is to survive as a business through this difficult time. Please, this is the time to send your family and friends. You all know of someone who would benefit from our exceptional care and WE NEED YOUR ONGOING SUPPORT!
On a more personal note, during my quarantine I have discovered several things about myself that I would like to share with you:
I really do enjoy having the occasional opportunity to sleep-in, which I haven’t done in 32 years!
I enjoy watching movies in the company of others, instead of just with Enzo, my golden doodle, who many of you have met. Believe it or not, Enzo actually watches TV, and he loves the series “Outlander”.
I feel SO INCREDIBLY grateful to all of you who have supported Contemporary Dental Arts, P.C. over the years. Many of you have been my patients since 1995 when I opened! Our kids have grown up and some of them have kids of their own! We have lived through 911, HIV, motorcycle crashes, divorces, marriages, cancers, bar mitzvahs, graduations, stock market crashes, and loss of our parents, children, loved ones, and best friends. We ARE truly a family indeed!
I miss ALL of YOU and I also miss my extraordinary team at Contemporary Dental Arts. I miss our connection and I promise we will laugh and hug again one day.
Please continue to stay safe and I will see you SOON!!
Warmest Regards,
Lauren J Shanard DDS, AAACD
