I recently lost my friend, mentor, jokester, and confidant of 43 years. We met at USC Dental School during my residency and hit it off. We both enjoyed woodworking, outdoor adventure, seeing what was down the next road, behind the next gate, and off the trail. We both enjoyed reverse engineering things and figuring out how things are made. No trespassing on wild lands was only an invitation for adventure. I appreciated Tom's devotion to family and friends. Tom, with his squirrely smile and sense of curiosity is probably trying to figure out how things work in heaven, what's beyond the pearly gates, and as his son Bryan said to me recently, getting all his questions answered about the universe. I will miss your presence and laughter at my jokes, your kindness, willingness to teach and patience to listen. I am gifted with your amazing family Shirley, Maureen, Bryan and Vicki, their boys, and legacy of friends. You are still present as I go about my day. It's not about the trails end, it's all about the journey and those we share it with. God Bless, Dr. John Sudick
