I recently lost my friend, mentor, jokester, and confidant of 43 years. We met at USC Dental School during my residency and hit it off. We both enjoyed woodworking, outdoor adventure, seeing what was down the next road, behind the next gate, and off the trail. We both enjoyed reverse engineering things and figuring out how things are made. No trespassing on wild lands was only an invitation for adventure. I appreciated Tom's devotion to family and friends. Tom, with his squirrely smile and sense of curiosity is probably trying to figure out how things work in heaven, what's beyond the pearly gates, and as his son Bryan said to me recently, getting all his questions answered about the universe. I will miss your presence and laughter at my jokes, your kindness, willingness to teach and patience to listen. I am gifted with your amazing family Shirley, Maureen, Bryan and Vicki, their boys, and legacy of friends. You are still present as I go about my day. By using a city name in your domain, you are more likely to attract patients in that city that are searching for a dentist or specific dental service. These domains are first come first serve and the listing may not last very long for a particular name. If you currently do not have a website, please know that over 65% of referrals to my office in 2019 came from web based searches such as Google. With over 265 new patients in 2019, that means 175 patients came to our office and became part of our dental family at a cost of about $10 per patient for the cost of maintaining a website and the additional domain names (11).

Happy Father's Day to all those dads dedicated to their families. We all know the crazy things we do for our kids to help them along with school and career. When Kirpa needed a patient in Hygienist College (after her patient cancelled) to pass her local anesthetic and nitrous exams, Dear Ole Dad stepped up to get 5 injections while under nitrous. Then I repeated it an hour later when her best friend Shelby's patient didn't show up. It was a mind numbing experience. Yes, after a little slobbering from the numb mouth and tongue, I managed to drive home and Kirpa and Shelby earned their anesthetic certificates. 100 years And Counting.
When it comes to birthdays, I have to say 100 years is the pinnacle. Imagine what changes in technology and world events that have occurred since 1921. I am so happy and proud to call Genevieve my friend and to celebrate her 100 years at the California Grill. Both Genevieve and her companion Ellie have quite a history in Whittier. Both were teachers and share a love of our community, it's nonprofit organizations that support education, the homeless, and other causes. They also enjoy traveling the world. Mom got her 2nd vaccination at Pomona Fairgrounds. It was just as easy as the first visit. Highly organized. She was a real trooper and did well. It is a genuine relief to know she can return to some more normal activities in 2 weeks.
