🦷 At Miles of Little Smiles, many parents wonder: "Same cavity, so why does one child get a filling, and another a crown?"

The deciding factor isn't the size of the original cavity, but how much healthy structure remains after cleaning it out. If the tooth still has enough healthy structure to handle chewing, a filling works well. If what's left is too thin or weak, or the tooth still has years to go before falling out naturally, a crown protects it better.
