DID YOU KNOW⁉️ Sealants are a great way to prevent decay from forming in the pits and fissures of the back teeth (molars and premolars). Pits and fissures are unable to be cleaned effectively with a toothbrush since they are so small and deep. We recommend sealing teeth as soon as possible after eruption to provide the best protection. The process is simple and requires no anesthetic (numbing)! Typically, sealants are recommended for children and adolescents, however adults can benefit from sealants, too! For example, if an adult has deep pits and fissures in all 4 wisdom teeth and the teeth are fully erupted, sealants are a great option to help keep these teeth healthy and restoration free!

Did you know⁉️
Pregnancy causes many changes in a woman’s body, including the mouth!
The three most common changes resulting from pregnancy in the mouth include:
Gingivitis (bleeding gums) and Periodontitis (gum disease), Pyogenic Granuloma-a small, localized tumor that can form along the gumline, and tooth decay. These can result due to hormonal changes, excess plaque and tartar accumulation, frequent snacking with high carbohydrate or sugary foods, and morning sickness. Undetected dental issues during pregnancy can put patients at a higher risk for premature labor and low birth weight. Regular dental cleanings and exams during pregnancy can catch these problems while they are small! 🤰🏻🦷🪥
