Your local family dentist, right here in Wheeling, West Virginia!
Dr. Natalie Nelson is a dentist who is truly rooted in the Wheeling community. A proud graduate of The Linsly School in 2006, she continued her education at West Virginia University, earning her Bachelor of Arts in Biology in 2010 with summa cm laude honors. In 2014, she earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from WVU.
But getting to know Dr. Natalie is about so much more than her education. ❤️
She genuinely cares about her patients — from the youngest smiles to the young-at-heart! She is known for being kind, compassionate and considerate, and that same feeling extends throughout her entire office.
From the moment you walk through the door and meet our receptionist, we want you to feel comfortable, welcomed and cared for.

🔥🏠 October is Fire Prevention Month! 🏠🔥
At Nelson Family Dentistry, we care about our patients and their families both in and out of the office. October is a great time to take a few minutes to make sure your family is prepared in case of a fire.
Here are a few simple reminders:
🔥 Check your smoke detectors and make sure they are working properly.
🔥 Have a fire escape plan and make sure everyone in the family knows what to do.
🔥 Practice your escape plan with the kids so they know where to go and where to meet outside.
🔥 Keep matches and lighters out of children's reach.
🔥 Never leave cooking unattended, especially when using the stove.
🔥 Keep a fire extinguisher handy and make sure adults know how to use it.
🔥 Keep exits and hallways clear so your family can get out quickly if needed.
A few minutes of preparation today can make a big difference when it comes to keeping your family safe. ❤️

Don’t forget about those little smiles! ❤️
Young children are still learning how to properly brush and floss, so a little help from Mom, Dad or another grown-up can make a big difference.
Make brushing part of your child’s everyday routine, help them reach those hard-to-get spots, and make it fun! A few extra minutes of help now can help build healthy habits that last a lifetime. 🪥😁

🦷💙 MEET HANNAH! 💙🦷
We’re wrapping up National Dental Hygiene Month celebration with another very special member of the Nelson Family Dentistry team!
Meet Hannah! 😊 Hannah has been a dental hygienist for 8 years, but becoming one wasn’t exactly the plan at first!
Hannah knew she wanted a career in healthcare—but she didn’t want to work weekends and holidays. Then her dad told her that her small hands would be perfect for fitting in people’s mouths! 😂 So Hannah thought, “Why not become a dental hygienist?” And the rest is history!
Her favorite part of working at Nelson Family Dentistry is getting to work with Dr. Natalie, who she says is not only an amazing boss, but also a friend. Add she works with an incredible team and with the best patients ever. Hannah feels pretty lucky to be part of the Nelson Family Dentistry family! ❤️
And now for a fun fact… 🎂
Hannah is a Leap Year baby! Since February 29 only comes around every four years, she has had only 7 “real” birthdays so far! So technically… a 7-year-old is cleaning your teeth! 😂🦷
Don’t worry—Hannah assures us she is a professional 7-year-old! 😉

We’re continuing our National Dental Hygiene Month celebration by introducing another wonderful member of the Nelson Family Dentistry team!
Meet Marcy! 😊 Marcy has been a dental hygienist for an incredible 35 years! Throughout her career, she has loved helping people have—and keep—healthy, beautiful smiles. 🪥✨
When asked what her favorite part of working at Nelson Family Dentistry is, Marcy had a quick answer… the free toothpaste we give our patients! 😂🪥 (She says it with a chuckle, but hey, who doesn’t love free toothpaste?!)
When Marcy isn’t busy helping patients, she loves to travel and spends her free time and vacations exploring and making new memories. ✈️🌎❤️
