Have you met our new associate, Dr. Buckins? A Loma Linda School of Dentistry graduate, she impressively also achieved her MBA in Health Administration and is the newest addition to our clinical team at 🤓🦷
Dr. Buckins has a strong passion for helping those less fortunate which has lead her across the country in addition to mission efforts in Ethiopia, Honduras and Jamaica. Her continual passion for people has lead her to believe that she has been called to care. She was first drawn to dentistry as a result of her own personal experience with crooked teeth and how dentistry was able to drastically change her appearance and confidence. One of her favorite aspects of dentistry is the ability to immediately change a persons smile! 🥰

**TEMPORARY VENEERS**
Deciding to move forward with a smile makeover can be very daunting and scary, because you are essentially placing all your trust and faith in your doctor to design a smile that will meet your expectations. This is why our temporary veneer stage is a very crucial part of our smile makeover process.

Temporary veneers allow our patients to “test-drive” their new smile while their permanent veneers are being fabricated at the dental lab. During this period of time, the patient and myself can evaluate the new smile on the patient’s face to determine whether aesthetics and function are ideal before committing to the size, shape and color of the final veneers.

Honest discussions about expectations and scope of results are very important before starting each smile makeover case. Smile designs that are exemplified in temporary veneers really help patients see their transformation prior to inserting the final, permanent restorations. This step earns trust and confidence between my patients and I, and allows for much more predictable results. 🤩

The field of dentistry has evolved so much since I graduated in 2007 - it’s an amazing time to be in dentistry! I’ve learned so much from taking thousands of hours of additional continuing education courses to ensure that I am constantly improving my skills and knowledge - whether it be in clinical techniques or new technology. 🤓

One of the things that patients have appreciated the most that I’ve introduced to the practice is digital scanning. An intraoral scan such as an iTero or a Primescan (yes, we have both !) eliminates the need for goopy impressions, which means no more gagging and choking on yucky tasting material. While we can’t eliminate all impressions for every situation, we definitely will try to scan every opportunity we have. 🤗

Cosmetic dentistry isn’t just about teeth - it’s about harmonizing the teeth with surrounding facial features such as lips and skin tone to a create a balanced, beautiful smile that enhances your overall facial aesthetic. 🥰
Our patient has a big smile with luscious lips, but her natural teeth were very small and short with spacing in between them. Although orthodontics can close the gaps between her teeth, it cannot change the shape and size of her teeth to better compliment her broad smile.
We treated her with 10 upper veneers which seamlessly transformed her smile to better compliment her entire face in only 3 easy visits. 🙌🏻
