We love when our patients have an easy time having procedures done! She was amazing, she was not afraid to begin with and we can thank her parents for that! It's very important not to scare kids before they see the dentist. Avoid using "it's not going to hurt". They're smart and it makes them think something may hurt.
Having a good first experience sets the tone for successful visits 🤍🦷🤍

É super importante não colocar medo nas crianças anted de irem ao dentista. Evite usar frases como "não se preocupe, não vai doer". Eles são inteligentes e isso faz eles pensarem que algo pode doer.

Our team has a new member: meet Sam! 👋
"I’m Sam, Brazilian, Mineira. In Brazil I got a degree in Psychology because I’m passionate about helping people to better themselves. Being able to work in the dentistry industry offered me the perfect opportunity to continue helping people in a different way. Seeing the doctors build back confidence and the joy of smiling to each patient. I came from a family of dentists, but never thought of the area as my new passion before.
Ironically I’m obsessed with vanilla ice cream!
Though I make up for it with something that nobody may know about me I practice slacklining. Which is balancing or walking on a suspended length of flat webbing like a rope. I can also spend hours playing video game."

Dr. Bastos received her DMD degree in 2006 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In 2011 she was awarded his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (Rutgers Dental School).
Dr. Bastos worked for 8 years at Monmouth Medical Family Health Center where she comprehensively treated a diverse patient population using a multi-disciplinary approach. She is currently an active member of the American Dental Association (ADA), New Jersey Dental Association (NJDA), and Monmouth and Ocean County Dental Society (MOCDS).
Dr. Bastos has been teaching the dental residents during their General Practice Residency (GPR) at the Monmouth Medical Center, in Long Branch, NJ since 2015. She is passionate about dentistry and loves to improve patients' smiles.
Dr. Bastos was voted NJ Top Dentist in 2021 and Monmouth County Top Dentist in 2022 by her peers.
In her spare time she likes to spend time with her husband and 3 children.
She is fluent in Portuguese, English and Spanish.
