Our office coordinator Heather’s family was affected by the devastation of the recent hurricane in Jamaica. She has taken it upon herself to organize a donation effort to send needed supplies to not only her own family, but as many people affected in Jamaica as she can. Dr Schlossberg is donating boxes of toothbrushes and toothpaste from her office in support of these efforts. Our dermatology neighbors next door are also helping out with donations of sunscreen and soap!

This patient came to me seeking a solution when her front tooth broke off. As a conservative dentist I try to keep people's natural teeth in their mouth whenever possible, even when there isn't much more than the root left. In this case I used an interdisciplinary approach by collaborating with endodontist Dr who first treated the tooth with a root canal and created space so that I could put in a fiber post for some much needed anchorage and retention. With the post in position, I was able to build up the core of the tooth with a composite, and finally prepare the tooth for a crown! The mild gum irritation from bonding the crown into place will heal within a few days.

My patient was so pleased with this final result, and was so happy keep her real tooth in her mouth!

Take your husband to work day!

A patient called over a weekend with an emergency, so I met him at the office to take care of the issue. Without my team there I needed an extra set of hands, so my husband (who has zero dental experience) stepped in to help! The patient was thankful to have his problem addressed, and said that hubby did a great job assisting.
