💧 Your mouth is thirsty. Are you listening?
Most people know dehydration affects energy, skin, and focus.
But here’s what your dentist wants you to know: your mouth is often the first place to feel it.
When you’re not drinking enough water:
🫙 Saliva production drops — and saliva is your mouth’s built-in defense system. It neutralizes acids, remineralizes enamel, and washes away bacteria.
🦷 Without it, cavity risk goes up.
😮💨 Dry mouth = bad breath (and not the kind a mint can fix).
😴 For my airway patients especially — dry mouth at night worsens snoring and makes breathing harder while you sleep.
Water isn’t just good for your body. It’s medicine for your mouth.
A simple goal: sip water consistently throughout the day. Not just when you’re thirsty — by then you’re already behind.
Your mouth will thank you. 💙
