🦷 Why Do We Take Dental X-Rays? 🦷
Dental X-rays aren’t taken randomly—they serve an important purpose in protecting your oral health. While a visual exam is helpful, many dental issues develop silently, without pain or obvious symptoms.
📸 X-rays help us detect things we can’t see, including:
• Tooth decay between teeth
• Bone loss caused by gum disease
• Decay beneath existing fillings or crowns
• Infections at the tip of the tooth root
They also give us a complete view of your teeth and jawbone, allowing treatments to be planned accurately and safely.
✅ What about safety?
Modern dental X-rays use very low radiation levels. With digital technology, protective lead aprons, and strict safety guidelines, exposure is minimal and safe.
For most patients, the benefit of early detection and prevention far outweighs the extremely small risk. Dental X-rays remain an essential part of maintaining long-term oral and overall health.
