The possible need for the endodontic procedure can be stressful enough, not to mention the concerns of having a dental procedure done as Corona Virus infection winds down. Should you need a root canal treatment, after anesthetizing your mouth, Dr. Taras Roud or Dr. Lesleigh Payne will place a rubber dam on the tooth in question to isolate and seal the tooth from the oral environment. Our goal is to ensure that nothing can sneak into your mouth during the procedure, and the high-speed air from the handpiece does not disseminate aerosol particles around, keeping the environment clean and everybody involved safe.
In this video, Dr. Roud is pretending to be the patient, while Dr. Payne is pacing a rubber dam on a molar tooth.

This video is about a safe root canal treatment with a rubber dam tooth isolation

The safety and well-being of our patients is of the utmost importance to Dr. Taras Roud and Dr. Lesleigh Payne at Advanced Endodontics of Wellington. As our country and the world continue to deal with the effects of COVID-19, we write to inform you about the AAE’s and American Dental Association’s (ADA) newest guidelines and recommendations for seeking dental care. Florida Surgeon General recommended suspending of all non-emergency dental procedure and we intend to do so while remaining available to any patient who seeks emergency care. Please be advised that our hours may change on the basis of demand for our services. We will only be seeing patients who are in need of urgent or emergency care. If your patients are in pain and need care immediately, please call (561)333-2522. We are working hard to provide our community with safe treatment options and trying to keep our emergency dental patients out of hospital emergency rooms, that are overwhelmed to say the least. In addition to following Universal Precautions and the guidelines from the CDC, Advanced Endodontics of Wellington has reinforced our infection control policies to prevent the spread of the virus. We are disinfecting our office’s common areas like the patient waiting room and check-in desk regularly, limiting interpersonal interactions (social distancing), and we temporarily removed all reading material from our waiting room. We are providing pre-operative antiseptic mouth rinse with enhanced vigilance. Handwashing before being seated in the operatory has been our policy for over a decade.
As always, we are using rubber dam isolation for all the treatments and we are enhancing it with a watertight sealer, called “opal dam” to ensure that no saliva is hit by the high-speed air spray of the dental handpiece. For scheduled patients that are feeling ill or have been in contact with someone that has tested positive for the virus, traveled in the high virus spread area, their appointment will be rescheduled 14 days or later.
We are here to support you and will play our part to fight the spread of coronavirus. If you need more information or clarification, please call the office or email [email protected].
Please stay safe and take steps to exercise extreme caution.
