Children's Dental Center

Children's Dental Center Children's Dental Center Our office provides comprehensive dental care for children from infants to teens. If we need to include the parent we send for them.

Dr. David Taylor is a pediatric dentist and the owner of Children’s Dental Center located in Clear Lake Professional Park in Webster, TX. We are committed to making good dental patients by the manner in which we provide treatment so that the individual will maintain good dental health throughout life. We believe in good fundamentals, prevention, interceptive orthodontic or growth techniques, to ar

rive at a healthy, attractive permanent dentition. The first visit for new patients usually consists of a dental exam (which may include x-rays) and a consultation and treatment plan, if required. Cleaning teeth may not be done until the treatment appointment (if necessary) because it is a useful way to begin a session for frightened or inexperienced children. Parents are present for initial exams and consult, but usually not during treatment. Most children do better without a parent to turn to so we start out with that approach. Sometimes they stay and sometimes we ask that they just reassure the child and return to the waiting area. Treatment of children is not routine nor does it lend itself to any sort of strict policy. Dr. Taylor and the staff are very successful at rendering dental care to frightened or upset children. Where necessary, sedation may be employed. Our office takes most insurances and treats Medicaid patients. We accept credit cards. You can ask for the health history and consent forms to be sent to you in advance to save time at the initial visit. If you have further questions call 281 332-6513, or just make an appointment and we will begin a meaningful dental relationship with your child as they grow up.

Children’s Dental Center is closing as of July 28th, 2022. Dr. David Taylor is retiring after 53 years of practicing dentistry. He opened the first pediatric dental office in the Bay Area in 1973, and for many years there was not another pedodontist south of Houston until you got to Corpus Christi. It has been a privilege and a blessing to serve this community. We are referring patients to Dr. Bret Ibarra at 12700 North Featherwood, #290, Houston, TX 77034 281 484-7732. Dr. Ibarra is opening an office on El Dorado soon and he will be the custodian of our patient records. You may call his office if you want to transfer your records. These last days have been marked by some special moments. Took the staff to their last Astros game, and last Rotary meeting. Saw patients for the last time that have been coming for decades. And young ones and families who wished us well. And we wish all of you well and appreciate the love. And one patient, Davis, wrote us a song to ‘rap’ things up. G.O.A.T. Kamila tells us she is in the first grade now and learning to read and do math and multiplication. So what is 4x7? “I don’t know. I don’t have it memorized yet. I have to use my fingers.” Do you have that many fingers? “No!”

Royce asked us not to tell his Dad that he has a loose tooth. Why? “Because the last time I had a wiggly tooth he pulled it in my sleep.” Now there is a strategy we haven’t heard before. Mom says they call Dad the “Tooth Yankster.”
