Dear patient family and friends,

First, let me tell you how honored we are to serve you and what a privilege it is to help enrich and enhance your life. It is at times like these when we are challenged to our core that we realize what a gift we have in our families, including you, our family of patients. The outpouring of heartfelt support you have voiced for my team and me is truly overwhelming and keeps us hopeful.

Because we want to do everything possible to mitigate the effects of this virus we are following CDC, American Dental Association and Texas Dental Association recommended guidelines and suspending elective procedures at our practice for the next few weeks effective today. We feel that acting in accordance with the abundance of caution approach is appropriate for all our protection in these uncertain times.

We also want you to know we will be here to answer your questions and provide any emergency services necessary. If you are experiencing any pain, swelling, trauma or sensitivity, do not hesitate to contact the office.

We will be calling to reschedule current elective procedures and hygiene appointments. Please feel free to call us anytime you have a question or concern.

Please follow the recommended CDC guidelines of sanitary measures, self quarantine and social distancing you have seen published to protect yourself and others.

While this is an extraordinary situation we will emerge from this stronger and better prepared for the future if we all pull together. We will be in regular contact to keep you informed at the highest level of knowledge we have at the time and how we will schedule to serve you.

Again, it is our distinguished pleasure to serve you and look forward to doing so again as soon as safely possible. Remember this will end and as always, at the end of this will be a great celebration filled with the beautiful smiles that we are so honored to be a part of. Don’t get stuck in the negative, keep the smiles going until then!

Sincerely,

Dr. Atkins, Dr. Cottongame and Team

To our patients,

We are doing our best to minimize risk and the potential spread of the COVID-19 virus. To that end, please note our new temporary office policies:

1. We ask you to limit any visitors attending your appointment. In the event an es**rt is present, they will not be allowed back to the clinical area. Ideally, they would wait outside the waiting room or in their car.

2. You will need to answer a few screening questions upon arrival. This is done to protect you, our team, and to prevent the potential spread of the virus. If you have traveled outside the US in the past 14 days or have a new onset fever, shortness of breath, a cough, or any contact with a person who is or has been exposed to the virus ,please call the office prior to your arrival. We ask that you not come to the office if you or your family have these symptoms. This is very important.

3. Your temperature will be taken prior to entering the clinical area. Any patients at or over 100F will be rescheduled.

4. A pre-procedural anti-viral rinse will be required and will be provided by our office.

5. As always, remember to wash your hands and minimize your exposure to large groups of people.

Our entire team is committed to your safety. Please don’t hesitate to call our office at (972) 937- 8433 if you have any questions or concerns.

Looking forward to Dr. Cottongame joining us in July!

Meet Navarro College alumni, Dr. Colby Cottongame!
“I was born and raised in Palmer, Tx and graduated in 2010. I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to play baseball at Navarro College and didn’t think twice about where I would spend my first two years of college.

I owe everything to my time spent at Navarro. Navarro baseball is a brotherhood that is unlike anything else I know of. Two years goes by so fast but it bonds you so closely with each guy you played with and with other players from other eras. It was a time where I really grew up and learned a lot about who I was and I wouldn’t trade those years for the world. I wish Navarro was a four-year school. I am thankful for all of the opportunities that Navarro College provided me to succeed. I truly believe it is where I learned the value of hard work!

I will always praise Navarro College. It was the best decision I ever made and I am a big supporter of community colleges in general. An 18-20 year-old kid most of the time will have no idea where they want their path to lead and community college is an awesome environment to grow up and figure out where the next step should be.”

Impactful NC Staff: Dr. Stringer was an amazing mentor for me. He was so supportive during my time in Corsicana and still to this day. He was a major part of my journey to where I am. Whoa Dill was an incredible coach to play for and someone I count as a good friend to this day and all of my faculty were great as well. Mrs. Dillman was excellent through all of my science pre-requisites.

Where are you now? I am now a general dentist about to start practicing at Ellis County Family Dentistry in Waxahachie. I recently graduated dental school at UT Health in San Antonio and am really excited to be coming back home.

We love seeing our former students doing amazing things! Thank you for letting Navarro College be part of your journey!
