Starting the week with a little community love!

Shelbi and Morgan had the opportunity to attend a recent benefit supporting Jessica’s family!

Our office was fortunate to be part of her mother’s care through the biopsy and diagnostic process, making it especially meaningful to see the community come together in support and events like this are an important reminder of why oral cancer awareness and early detection matter.

Oral cancer can develop in areas that may be difficult to see or may initially seem like a minor concern. Persistent sores, lumps, red or white patches, unexplained bleeding, numbness, or changes in the mouth that don’t go away should be evaluated by a dental or medical professional.

When something appears concerning, a biopsy can provide the answers needed to move forward with appropriate care.

We’re proud to be able to show our supporting such an important cause. 🧡

Even though Mary works remotely, she is such an important part of our CWOFS family. She’s the person behind the scenes who somehow manages to catch all the things we throw her way—referrals, voicemails, billing, overflow, and plenty of “Mary, can you help with this?” moments. 😂❤️

But beyond everything she does for us, we’re simply so lucky to have her on our team. Mary is dependable, kind, always willing to help, and someone we know we can count on.

🎓 Proud to Be a Surgical Technology Preceptor Site!

We’re excited to share that Central Wisconsin Oral & Facial Surgery is a preceptor site forNorthcentral Technical College’s Surgical Technology Program! 🦷🩺

This means Surgical Technology students have the opportunity to step into a specialized Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery setting and gain hands-on clinical experience alongside our surgical team.

From surgical preparation and sterile technique to assisting with complex oral and maxillofacial procedures, students get exposure to a side of surgical technology they may not experience in a traditional operating room.

During Surgical Technologists Week, we’re especially proud to recognize not only the incredible surgical techs already serving patients, but also the next generation entering the profession. 💙

We’re proud to help teach, mentor, and strengthen the future surgical workforce right here in Central Wisconsin.

🩺🦷 It’s National Surgical Technologists Week!

We’re especially proud to celebrate the Surgical Techs at CWOFS—because what they do is highly specialized.

Our team includes Surgical Technologists whose work is specifically focused in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, supporting everything from wisdom teeth and dental implants to facial trauma, pathology, bone grafting, anesthesia and complex surgical cases.

And here’s something people may not realize: the mouth is a uniquely challenging surgical environment. Unlike surgery through external skin, the oral cavity is continuously exposed to saliva, specialized mucous membranes and hundreds of species of microorganisms. Maintaining surgical asepsis while working within that environment requires specialized knowledge, technique and attention to detail.

Add in a small operative field, complex anatomy, specialized instrumentation and anesthesia—and OMS surgical technology is its own world.

Our Surgical Techs know that world exceptionally well. They anticipate, adapt and often know exactly what’s needed before it’s even asked for.

They may work behind the scenes, but they are absolutely essential to what happens in our operating rooms every day.

On September 11, 2001, our nation experienced a tragedy that forever changed the lives of so many.

Today, we honor the 2,977 lives lost, the families who still carry their absence, and the first responders, service members, healthcare professionals, and ordinary Americans who stepped forward with extraordinary courage.
