For the vast majority of dental patients their insurance benefits period is the standard calendar year. This means that the benefits renew each January and expire at the end of each December. Good morning SDG Family! Today we stress the importance of flossing! While many people brush their teeth regularly for many folks flossing can tend to be the forgotten step in your average oral hygiene routine. This is often because people mistake flossing as unimportant in comparison to brushing often when this could not be further from the case. Flossing is an integral part of the oral health routine for the simple fact that floss reaches areas which your toothbrush cannot effectively access. Namely, in between the teeth. Those crevices can be a hiding spot for food particles, plaque, and tarter to build up. This debris if not removed can cause harden into tarter and calculus and ultimately damage the Emanuel as well as the tooth structure underneath. This is completely preventable by simply adding flossing to your regular routine in the morning and evening! For those that struggle to integrate flossing into your routine, we recommend keeping disposable flossers in places you frequent. For example, your center console in your car, or your desk drawer at work, or even your side table at home by the couch. Those few extra minutes can make all the difference in the health of your smile.

Good morning SDG Family! Keep your smile bright and healthy by utilizing all the tools in your dental tool belt! This mean brushing and flossing at a minimum of 2 times daily! It also means regularly visiting your dentist for professional cleanings and exams (at least twice annually though some patient require a higher frequency)! This can also include over the counter tools like mouthwashes or fluoride treatments!
