Doctors can talk a lottt, and it can all be very confusing! What seems like every day terminology to them, can sound like a whole different language to everyone else! Never be afraid to ask what anything means in english, not doctor talk! 👨‍⚕️🥼

Here's some simple Orthodontic vocab words to keep in your back pocket!🦷

Mesial - Towards the front of the mouth or closest to the midline* (*imaginary center line dividing your front teeth)

Distal - Towards the back of the mouth or farther away from the midline

Incisal - The bitting edge of your 12 front teeth

Remember to avoid sticky and crunchy foods to prevent a broken brace! 🦷

Wax is your bestfriend for anything rubbing or poking your lip! Roll a small ball of wax in your fingers to warm it up, dry the area well with a napkin, stick it on and LEAVE IT ALONE❗️
