can do to help you feel good, stay healthy and look great throughout life. Dr. Michael Moon is a second generation dentist who grew up in Peoria, Illinois. He graduated from Creighton University with a degree in economics in 1990. Dr. Moon went on to the University of Illinois at Chicago for his dental degree, graduating in 1994. He returned home in 1995, getting his start at the Peoria County Heath Department working with children. He transitioned into private practice and came to Washington in 2002. Dr. Moon has been married to his wife Harriet since 2000, and is the proud father to Molly, born in 2002. In his spare time, Dr. Moon enjoys cooking, hunting and bad golf.

Accidents happen! A dear lady mistook the gas pedal for her brake and kissed the building! All are safe, the building is shored up for now till it can be repaired. Thankfully and most importantly, no one was injured, just a bit shook up. A special thank you to our fantastic Washington Fire and Rescue department and our wonderful Washington Police department, all who helped get everyone settled. A huge shout out to Bob with Billy Bob towing! He went above and beyond to help clean up both inside and out so we could get patients in and out of the building for the rest of the day. And special thanks to Dan Pfeiffer State Farm Agency for getting a reno team there quickly to get things put back together. We will be back in Monday morning for business as usual. What a great town and neighbors we are blessed to be a part of!

When part of your duties is to post on social media for the office, it’s difficult to write about yourself when it’s your day to be celebrated. This date continues to come around year after year, faster and faster and it causes me to stop and reflect. For my birthday today, I thought it would be best to reflect on what makes this day so beautiful for me. I have the privilege to work side by side with, what I believe is one of the best dentists you will find, kind, caring, takes pride in his work and staff, and I’m lucky to call him both friend and family. My co-workers, also the best you can find! I’m so blessed to serve our patients along side each one of them. And our patients! The best! Many have become friends and we have watched our families grow together. All of this is my gift, and why I’m still loving my work each day. Of course my own family and friends are icing on the cake.
So today I say, happy 68th birthday to me, and how incredibly thankful I am to be here, in this wonderful little world we have here at Moon Family Dental, not only just today, but for many days to come!
