There are moments that remind us just how much goodness still exists in this world.
Over the last several years, Iāve had the privilege of getting to know the Sisters of the Order of the Daughters of Saint Anne at my childrenās school. Growing up, I have to admit... I always thought nuns were a little intimidating! š
What Iāve discovered couldnāt be further from that childhood perception. They are joyful, incredibly kind, andāperhaps most surprising of allāabsolutely hilarious. The other day, we spent time together laughing so hard our stomachs hurt. It was one of those moments Iāll never forget. Who knew nuns could be a little mischievous?
I have such deep respect for anyone who chooses a life of religious service. Regardless of faith or denomination, dedicating your life to serving others is an extraordinary act of love, sacrifice, and humility. The world is better because of people like them.
A few days ago, Sister Tirhaus asked if I had ever tried Eritrean food. I told her I hadnāt.
Today, she walked into our office carrying trays filled with homemade Eritrean dishes as a thank-you for caring for them over the years.
Honestly, I was overwhelmed.
I felt humbled accepting such a generous gift from women who have already devoted their lives to caring for others. More than anything, I felt deeply honored.
Today was a beautiful reminder that kindness has a way of multiplying. The people who give the most are often the ones who expect the least in return.
She also brought me a beautiful bag filled with rosaries to share with anyone who may need a few extra blessings. Regardless of our religious beliefs, we all deserve hope, love, and blessings. What a blessing she is to all of us. ā¤ļø
May we all strive to live a little more like thatāgiving generously, loving selflessly, and showing gratitude whenever we have the chance.
Thank you, Sister Tirhaus, Sister Medhanit, Sister Ghennet, and all of the Sisters who have touched our lives. Your kindness, friendship, and unwavering example of selfless service are gifts to all of us, and we are so grateful. ā¤ļø
