Love seeing complete bone healing at the follow-up visit! 💪🏻🦷

In this retreatment case, the initial root canal looked good radiographically—no obvious short fillings or missed canals. Yet persistent disease remained.

A reminder that successful treatment goes beyond what we see on an X-ray. Thorough irrigation and disinfection are essential, and how effectively the canals were cleaned is something an X-ray simply cannot show. 🔬

Retreatment of Three-rooted maxillary premolar

The literature generally reports three-rooted maxillary premolars as having a prevalence typically under 10% depending on the population and study.

But clinically? I’m not so sure I agree as I seem to encounter at least a few of these weekly. 😂

Or maybe CBCT is making us better at identifying complex anatomy!
One more reason pre-op CBCT and careful evaluation can make all the difference.

Happy MB(2)SDAY 🦷🔬

In this case, none of the canals were exactly treated the first time around… but MB2 still deserves its own day!
CBCT + magnification + proper canal identification made all the difference.
A proper second chance for this tooth.

This session will include:
• Three-rooted premolars — identification & treatment
• Locating the elusive MB2
• Management of iatrogenic perforations
• Open case discussion and clinical pearls

🦷 What an incredible way to kick off the District Endodontics Study Club!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our inaugural session. It was a fantastic evening filled with great conversation, collaborative learning, and plenty of clinical pearls.

Some of the topics we tackled included:
🔹 CBCT interpretation
🔹 C-shaped canal anatomy & management
🔹 Single-cone vs. warm vertical obturation
🔹 Working radiograph techniques
🔹 Challenging case discussions and treatment planning

One of the best parts of the evening wasn’t the slides—it was the discussion. Seeing colleagues openly share ideas, ask questions, and learn from one another is exactly what this study club was created for.

This is just the beginning, and we’re excited to continue building a community where dentists can connect, collaborate, and grow together.
