A Washington DC area practice dedicated exclusively to endodontic care, root canal therapy & emergency cases

We provide comprehensive patient care in all phases of surgical and non-surgical endodontics. Endodontics, or "root canal therapy," is one of the dental specialties recognized by the American Dental Association and is the only type of treatment that we perform. We are committed to providing the highest standard of service in a relaxed, pleasant office utilizing a specially trained staff. We are saddened to announce the passing of our friend and colleague, Dr. Michael J. Ribera. His passion for his profession could not be outmatched and he was adored by all. We are so grateful to have practiced alongside the best. His memory will stay alive through the patients’ lives he touched, and the happiness he brought to those around him.

Mandibular premolars consistently present a challenge due to their complex anatomical variability. In this case, once a reproducible glidepath was established with a 17/.04 V-Taper instrument, we let GentleWave® take over. Obturation was subsequently achieved using sealer hydraulics in conjunction with thermosoftened gutta-percha, allowing for 3-D filling of the root canal system.

We are grateful for the additional confidence and peace of mind provided by in managing such a complex case.

Exhibited here is a rare Bolk tubercle of a maxillary first molar. Described by Louis Bolk, this accessory cusp forms during crown morphogenesis.

When transverse anastomosis is confirmed internally, GentleWave® providers will typically skip accessing the tubercle and let multisonic irrigation handle complete debridement and disinfection of the tubercle’s system via the conventional access.

BRIEF REVIEW
1. LEOs form symmetrically around POEs.
2. Sealer surplus is not pretty and certainly not the goal; however it is 100% clinically irrelevant. It is the result of the hydraulics that is safely generated when the root canal system is obturated in 3-D.
