Your teeth crack like a windshield.

A small chip becomes a craze line. A craze line becomes a crack. A crack becomes a fracture. And one Friday morning, you bite into a piece of toast and HALF YOUR TOOTH comes off in your mouth.

That's how it actually happens.

Grinding cases have gone way up since 2020. We're all carrying stress we didn't ask for, and most of it ends up in the jaw at night.

When Dr. Kassam spots early craze lines on a patient's scan, she pulls out the intraoral camera and shows them. "Look. Your teeth are actively cracking. We need to do something about this before Friday morning shows up."

The fix is a night guard. Not glamorous. Just effective. Wear it, and your teeth stop getting ground down for eight hours every night.

If you've been told you grind your teeth and you've been putting off the night guard, please don't wait for the Friday morning toast. Call 202-529-6468 visit https://twoacesdentistry.com/

I'd much rather see you have a coffee in the morning than choose energy drinks.

Energy drinks are THE WORST for your teeth. The sugar is high, the caffeine is high, and almost nobody drinks just one. Which means your teeth are getting bathed in acid and sugar all day long.

Next on the list is cola. Same general issue, slightly less abuse. If you can't quit, switch to sparkling water for the bubbles, or a zero-sugar version. Anything to get the sugar out of the equation.

Coffee and tea on the other hand, aren't all that bad. The main concerns are staining and caffeine. If you can skip the sugar and use stevia or alternate sips of your coffee or tea with sips of water to rinse your teeth, you can avoid a lot of the issues.

One trick is simple: "When I'm at home and nobody's judging me, I drink my tea with a straw. The straw bypasses the front teeth entirely. It might look dumb, but it works."

Few things are more frustrating than a dental problem that won't stay fixed. You get a chip repaired, you think you're done, and then it chips again, sometimes almost right away.

One of our patients came to us in exactly that spot, and shared what happened next.

When the chip came back, they turned to a member of our team and asked what to do. The answer was immediate: see Dr. Kassam right now. We'll call her. No waiting, no runaround, just a team that moved quickly when something needed attention.

And in the patient's own words? Dr. Kassam got it right. She took good care of them, and earned something that's hard to earn: real trust. As they put it, they trust her opinion a lot, and she's become one of their favorite providers ever.

That's the whole goal. Not only fixing the tooth, but doing it in a way that leaves you confident you're in the right hands.

If you've been dealing with a problem that keeps coming back, we'd be glad to take care of you at Two Aces Dentistry in Washington, DC.

Let's say you stopped taking a specific medication four years ago. It might still be in your system.

Some medications for bone density and other conditions can affect your ability to heal from surgery even years after you stop taking them.

Which means that if you need an extraction, an implant, or any other kind of dental procedure, we need to know your whole medical history. Even if it's been years since you last took the medication, you need to keep your dentist in the loop.

What did you take? What was the dose? When did you stop? Why? Has there been bone-density medication in the picture at any point?

A non-healing extraction site is hard to recover from. We can plan around it when we know your history.

If you've ever been treated for cancer or osteoporosis and you have dental work coming up, call us at 202-529-6468 before you book the procedure. We'll plan it together visit https://twoacesdentistry.com/

A lot of dental anxiety comes down to one thing: not knowing. Not knowing what's happening, why it's happening, or what that sound and pressure actually mean. You're just lying back, hoping someone will explain.

One of our patients described the opposite of that feeling, and it's exactly what we aim for.

In their words, both of our dentists are exact and to the point. There's no mystery to the procedures. You hear why something's being done before it happens: this is what we're doing today, and this is why. Then afterward: this is what we did. There's a reason behind everything.

And the best part? If you don't understand something, you can just ask. No question is too small, and nobody makes you feel like you should already know the answer.

That's what clear care feels like. You're not a passenger in your own treatment. You're informed at every step, and always welcome to speak up.

If you've been looking for a dentist who takes the time to explain, we'd love to meet you at Two Aces Dentistry in Washington, DC.
