Dr. Stella: As a native of DC, it was important for me to build my practice in the city that poured so much into me professionally and socially. This is my community, and I want to be part of the community by offering quality care for the pediatric and special needs population. I have always been interested in healthcare; my experience wearing braces during my teenage years sparked my interest and

love for dentistry. The best part of my day is seeing their little faces. Those that know me know I love to laugh and their innocence and honesty keeps a smile on my face! Dr Briana: the Orthodontist, Dr. Briana provides services to patients as young as 7 because she knows that many children if treated early, may not need extensive orthodontic treatment in the future. She also enjoys helping her adolescent and adult patients get the beautifully straight smiles they have always wanted. For these very reasons, she provides her patients with expertise in functional appliance therapy, traditional braces, and clear aligners. Dr. Briana knows that it takes the combined efforts of herself, her team, the patient, and their families to reach the ultimate goal of a beautiful smile. :)

🦷 A knocked out tooth is one situation where the next 30 minutes actually matter.

If your child knocks out a permanent tooth, pick it up by the crown and not the root, rinse it gently with water without scrubbing, and try to place it back in the socket if possible. If that is not an option, keep it in a small container of milk or between your child's cheek and gum to preserve it. Then get to a dentist immediately. Studies consistently show that electric toothbrushes remove more plaque, particularly for kids who rush through brushing or do not use great technique. That said, a manual brush used correctly and for the full two minutes is still effective. The best toothbrush is honestly the one your child will actually use without a battle.
