Rockstar Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics

Rockstar Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics Rockstar Pediatric Dentistry in Washington, DC offers top-quality dental care for kids. I enjoy working with children.

Dr. Stella: As a native of DC, it was important for me to build my practice in the city that poured so much into me professionally and socially. This is my community, and I want to be part of the community by offering quality care for the pediatric and special needs population. I have always been interested in healthcare; my experience wearing braces during my teenage years sparked my interest and

love for dentistry. The best part of my day is seeing their little faces. Those that know me know I love to laugh and their innocence and honesty keeps a smile on my face! Dr Briana: the Orthodontist, Dr. Briana provides services to patients as young as 7 because she knows that many children if treated early, may not need extensive orthodontic treatment in the future. She also enjoys helping her adolescent and adult patients get the beautifully straight smiles they have always wanted. For these very reasons, she provides her patients with expertise in functional appliance therapy, traditional braces, and clear aligners. Dr. Briana knows that it takes the combined efforts of herself, her team, the patient, and their families to reach the ultimate goal of a beautiful smile. :)

Five Budget-Friendly Ways to Protect Your Kid's Teeth

As the year winds down, here's a friendly reminder that your dental benefits might too. Here's how to make the most of what's left:
Check if you have unused FSA or HSA funds. Many plans don't roll over, so use it or lose it. 💰
See if your child is due for a second cleaning this year. Most plans cover two, and it's easy to forget the first one happened back in the spring.
Ask about sealants, a low cost way to prevent costly cavities down the road. 🦷
Bundle appointments when you can. Whether it's scheduling siblings together or combining a dental and orthodontic checkup (we offer both here), fewer trips means less hassle for you.
Review your plan's annual maximum. Any benefit left on the table come January is gone for good.
A few minutes of planning now can save a lot of stress (and money!) later. Reach out if you'd like help checking what's still available on your plan. ✨

5 Things I Wish DMV Parents Remembered as School Starts

Back-to-school season brings a long list of priorities. Here's why the dentist deserves a spot on it:

1) Cavities don't always cause pain until they've become a real problem.
2) A proper mouthguard is far less costly than emergency dental care — ask any sports parent.
3) A new school year is a natural time to schedule that six-month cleaning before it slips your mind.
4) If your child is still thumb-sucking or using a pacifier, it's worth discussing now rather than later.
5) You know your child best — trust that instinct, and let us know if something feels off.

Tag a DMV parent who could use this reminder.

Not every pediatric dental office is equipped to support a child with autism well, and it's worth saying that plainly. A few things to look for:

1) Ask about sensory-friendly accommodations (dimmer lighting, noise-canceling headphones, weighted blankets)
2) Ask whether they offer practice visits before the actual appointment
3) Ask how they handle unexpected sounds or movements, and whether they explain each step in advance
4) Look for flexible appointment lengths rather than a rushed time slot
5) Pay attention to staff patience — it's usually clear within the first few minutes

If you're navigating this, know that you're not alone, and we're always glad to talk through what we offer before you book. 💜

This past spring, I had the opportunity to attend the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) Conference in Las Vegas, where I connected with colleagues and learned about the latest products, techniques, and trends to better care for my patients.

As kids head back to school, I’m proud to keep learning too—because the best care starts with staying up to date.

🦷 Your teeth aren’t the only thing you need to brush!

Your tongue plays a role in your overall oral health too 👅✨
A healthier mouth starts with caring for every part of your smile.

Getting your child to actually floss — and not just chew on it — can feel like its own daily negotiation. A few things that actually work:

1) Let them pick the flavor. Mint isn't the only option, and buy-in matters more than we'd like to admit.
2) Try floss picks before string floss — small hands manage them so much more easily.
3) Attach it to a habit they already have, right after brushing, instead of treating it as a separate task.

Small wins add up.
