Earlier this week, the dental community lost an incredible clinician, colleague, and friend, Dr. John Ehreth.

John was an amazing endodontist a true professional whose kindness, gentle smile, and dedication to his patients and colleagues will never be forgotten. He was the kind of person who was always just a phone call away whenever I needed him to review a difficult case, share his thoughts, or help guide the best care for a patient.

Our connection goes back many years to MCV, where John was an endodontic resident while I was in dental school. Because of that history and knowing the type of person and clinician he was, it was always natural for me to trust that my patients were in the very best hands. He treated every patient with exceptional skill, compassion, and professionalism.

It is rare to find someone with John’s combination of clinical excellence, humility, and genuine kindness. His loss will be felt deeply, not only by his family and friends, but by the many dentists and patients whose lives he touched.

It will be very difficult to find someone of his caliber to care for my patients who need endodontic therapy. More than anything, I will miss my friend ,his willingness to help, his calm presence, and that gentle smile.

Rest in peace, John. Thank you for the difference you made in so many lives. You will be greatly missed, and you will never be forgotten. ❤️
