We hope you and your family are safe and well in this most challenging of times. We are unfortunately still awaiting a confirmed announcement of our reopening date from New York State. We would like to share with you some of what we are doing to keep your experience in our office as SAFE and COMFORTABLE as possible.

We have ALWAYS utilized the HIGHEST standards of sterilization techniques.

With that in mind, we have purchased, among other items:
• An air purification & disinfection system for the ENTIRE office
• Dental chair-side high speed aerosol protection systems
• UV lights for the operatory disinfection in-between each patient
• Sneeze guards for reception and checkout counters
• Personal use pens, Contactless thermometer, Alcohol-based hand sanitizer

Our promise to you, as loyal patients and friends, whether in disinfection protocol or delivery of care, is to exceed both the norms and your expectations. We appreciate your patience during this delay and look forward to seeing you as soon as possible.

When we receive notification from New York State of an opening date, we will inform you details regarding the additional new safety features and protocols for your next visit.

Patients and Friends of South Shore Long Island Periodontics & Implantology, P.C.

We are as aware as you have been of the development of the COVID-19 virus. As cases have begun to mount in and surrounding towns, we have grappled with how to follow the CDC guidelines and recommendations, while also continuing to serve our patients. Nobody on our staff nor patients that we are aware of have had any symptoms of disease.
Dentistry creates many aerosol "plumes," particularly hygiene instruments and dental handpieces. Even following the best ADA and other guidelines for this virus, there is still risk. We do not feel that we, in good conscience, can ask our staff or patients to be present in the office when so many people may be contagious but asymptomatic.
As such, we have decided on the following-
1) We will be closed for 2 weeks starting 3/17/20 at a minimum
2) The phones will be answered at the office beginning at 9am
3) Dr. Kim & Dr. Levine will be available for any emergency treatment that cannot wait.
4) We have been part of establishing a local network of specialists and general practitioners for emergencies as they arise to limit exposure of people to one another.
5) We appreciate everyone's patience and also hope and pray that this pandemic run its course as painlessly as possible. We also ask everyone to PLEASE follow the social distancing and CDC recommendations as closely as you can.
