A little gum contouring, a lot of confidence ✨ Crown lengthening + veneers for a balanced, natural smile transformation.

This patient began with missing lateral incisors, resulting in a canine substitution that looked improper and unnatural. Crown lengthening allowed for ideal bone and gum draping, improving the length of the teeth. The conservative porcelain veneers then created the appropriate shape and positioning we wanted to obtain in her smile.

Single front implant crown: the most difficult thing for all dentist!

Challenges in restoring an individual anterior implant crown:
•Tissue draping naturally on the sides of the tooth
So often the surgeon and dentist lose this tissue
during treatment and takes planning and detailed
steps to minimize tissue loss and create a natural
look.
•Color matching one tooth
It is imperative to have an outstanding lab to create
layers of color and dimension. This is why we use
Ultimate Styles Lab in Irvine, CA. This can make or
break the final result and absolutely makes a
difference!
•Avoiding grey dead tooth look
Using some of the newer zirconia (strong, white
porcelain) as the abutment (substructure of the
crown) will minimize the grey metal from showing
through and leaving a grey “dead tooth” look.
Instead, the zirconia abutment shown here allows
for a more esthetic and translucent look on the
final crown.

There are many sophisticated techniques to get an ideal smile.

Pre-treatment ortho positions the teeth in an ideal spot in the jaw bone so natural teeth can be created where needed.

In-office whitening can brighten up the patient’s smile and create a repeatable color to match the proper shade for the implant, or any other restoration to the surrounding teeth.

Supporting patients through the interim phases of the implant process is imperative so they look great and their lives are the least disrupted as possible.

Many temporary options exist depending on the phase of treatment.
An orthodontist can bond a tooth on the wire with the bracket, ideally with as similar shade.
The cosmetic dentist can specify the width desired in between the teeth for ideal final restorations.
The cosmetic dentist can bond a “ribbon temp” (a composite tooth bonded in and secured with a bonded ribbon behind the teeth during a surgical phase and healing of the implant, so the smile looks normal through the process.

The cosmetic dentist can fabricate a screw retained temporary that serves to act like a “normal” tooth for the patient and develops the tissue around the future implant site.
The temporary, if made well, helps form the papilla (triangular gum tissue between teeth).
After the implant healing phase
If made incorrectly, the tissue doesn’t heal with a natural drape.

This was a meticulously thought out treatment plan and we feel it turned out wonderfully. Our patient left with increased confidence and a new beautiful smile!
