Today we celebrate Medical Coder Day and mahalo our Medical Coding ʻOhana for the essential role they play in supporting accurate documentation and compliant coding practices.

Medical coders play an essential behind-the-scenes role in keeping health care moving. Their accuracy, attention to detail, verification, and knowledge help translate patient medical records into universal codes that support proper reimbursement, reporting, and continuity across our health center.

Mahalo to our Medical Coding Team for your hard work, expertise, and commitment to serving our patients, providers, and community every day.

Mahalo to the Hawaiʻi State Legislature for supporting healthcare access in West Oʻahu.

WCCHC is grateful to receive $300,000 in Grant-in-Aid (GIA) funding to strengthen our Medicaid Readiness Plan ahead of Medicaid enrollment and redetermination changes taking effect in 2027.

This funding will help expand enrollment & redetermination support for patients across our clinics and community outreach efforts, strengthen Medicaid enrollment & redetermination follow-up systems, and support the development of a West Oʻahu Social Services Resource Hub.

For many families in our community, Medicaid coverage is essential to accessing healthcare. This investment will help patients navigate the necessary requirements to maintain coverage, reduce barriers to care, and connect more residents with the healthcare services they need.

Mahalo to the Hawaiʻi State Legislature for supporting the health and wellbeing of our community.
