Meet Dr. Josh Konikoff! 🧑‍⚕️

For Dr. Josh, dentistry has always been personal. Born and raised right here in the Virginia Beach/Norfolk area, he grew up in a family where caring for patients was part of everyday life. His father has served Hampton Roads as a dentist for more than 40 years, and his mother was a dental hygienist, giving Dr. Josh an early look at just how important trust, relationships, and genuine care are in dentistry.

After earning his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Touro College of Dental Medicine in New York and completing a General Practice Residency at NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan, Dr. Josh knew exactly where he wanted to come back to: home.

He created Konikoff Cares Dental in Virginia Beach with a simple vision, modern dentistry that still feels personal.

That means taking the time to listen, explaining your options clearly, helping you feel comfortable, and making sure you never feel like just another appointment on the schedule.

If you’ve been looking for a new dentist in Virginia Beach, we’d love the opportunity to welcome you to Konikoff Cares Dental.

Plaque does a lot more than make your teeth feel a little fuzzy 🦷

Left behind, it can weaken enamel, contribute to cavities, irritate your gums, and eventually harden into tartar that can’t be removed with brushing alone.

The good news is that a consistent routine at home paired with regular professional cleanings can make a big difference.

Swipe through to see what plaque is really doing to your teeth, and why preventive care matters even when nothing hurts.

Preventive dentistry is about staying ahead of problems, not just treating them once something hurts 🦷

Routine exams and cleanings give your dental team the opportunity to spot early signs of cavities, gum disease, worn or damaged teeth, and other concerns that may not cause noticeable symptoms right away. Regular professional cleanings also remove plaque and tartar buildup that brushing and flossing alone can’t always reach.

Even if your smile feels perfectly fine, consistent preventive care can help protect your oral health, keep small concerns from becoming bigger ones, and support a healthy smile for years to come.

At Konikoff Cares Dental, we focus on proactive, personalized care so you can feel confident about your dental health at every stage.
