A clearer picture of your oral health starts with better technology.

We’re excited to now offer 3D CBCT imaging at Connecticut East Dental Center!

Unlike a traditional dental X-ray, a CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) scan creates a detailed 3D image of your teeth, jawbone, nerves, and surrounding structures. This gives our providers a much more complete view when diagnosing certain conditions and planning treatment.

Our Oral Surgeon especially utilizes CBCT imaging to evaluate complex cases and help plan procedures with greater precision and confidence.

From the tools we use to the skills we continue to develop, we’re always looking for ways to advance our practice and provide our patients with the highest level of care.

This week we are spotlighting Jay, our wonderful hygienist who works in our Vernon and Willimantic offices! Jay first joined the team in 2007. He became interested in the dental field when he worked as a volunteer dental assistant at the UConn dental clinics in 2006. This was shortly before Dr. Khan first opened Connecticut East, and ever since he’s been doing teeth and loving every minute! He loves being able to help patients, especially when they come in pain and he is able to help them find relief. His biggest tip for your smile is to not ignore your home care and regular check ups because these will save you a ton of pain and financial stress! Outside of work, Jay is immensely proud of his 4 year old daughter. She thinks her dad works at the coolest place ever, and he agrees!

You might not know that Jay is really interested in aviation and hopes to someday get his pilot’s license!

This week we are spotlighting Lexie, our Practice Administrator who works in our Vernon office! More than 10 years ago, Lexie worked here as a Front Desk Assistant, and she has recently returned to us in an expanded role. As Dr. Khan and the Practice Manager’s daughter, Lexie grew up in the office, spending her after school hours completing her homework and watching PBS in the break room. Lexie spent the past 10 years living in Boston with her husband and teaching 3-8th grade in Brookline, MA. Lexie loves being at Connecticut East because it means she gets to work with her parents and brother. At the end of each day, Lexie rushes home to be with her sweet 6 month old son. She loves taking him on adventures to the zoo and the Mystic Aquarium.

If you ever need a book recommendation while you're in the office, Lexie is the one to ask! She has been working on crocheting a blanket that represents each of the 42 books she read in 2025!

This week we are spotlighting Neville, our fun-loving hygienist who works in our Vernon office! Neville has been with us at Connecticut East Dental Center since we first opened our doors nearly 20 years ago! If you’ve been in the Vernon office, chances are you’ve been in Neville’s chair. Neville is known for keeping patients and staff laughing, and serenading us all as he sings along to the radio. Neville’s interest in joining the dental field began when he himself got orthodontic treatment in his 20s. His favorite thing about working with patients is teaching them how to better help themselves. He wants all his patients to know that a smile is your first impression, and he is honored to be a part of keeping that smile sparkling. When he isn’t cleaning teeth, Neville is enjoying cultural food, and you can find him frequenting Jamaica Kitchen down the street from our office.

This week we are spotlighting Angie, our wonderful dental assistant who works in our Vernon office! Angie has been a part of our team for 4 years. For Angie, the best part of working at CT East Dental Center is definitely making patients feel comfortable and easing their dental anxieties. Every day is different and you get to make a direct, tangible impact on people’s lives. Angie loves helping patients understand their oral health and easing their anxieties. Angie comes from a family of dental professionals and grew up with her father and brother working in the field. Angie’s advice for your smile is to brush your teeth twice a day, clean between teeth using floss, limit acidic and sugary foods, and visit the dentist regularly for professional cleanings twice a year. When she isn’t at work, Angie is passionate about fitness and staying active. She particularly enjoys strength training, weightlifting and mobility.

This past Sunday, Connecticut East Dental Center and our families spent the afternoon at Dunkin' Donuts Park rooting for the Hartford Yard Goats! We had a wonderful day together, even if the Yard Goats weren't able to pull out a win.

This week we are spotlighting Zak, our wonderful Front Desk Assistant who works in our Vernon office! Zak joined the team in an official capacity this past fall, though as Dr. Khan’s and Practice Manager, Barbara’s, son he has been a part of the CT East Dental Center family his whole life! When he isn’t behind the front desk, you can find Zak at his favorite restaurant, Texas Roadhouse, or watching the Mets with his dog, Charlie.

Next time you’re in for a check up, be sure to say hello and wish Zak good luck as he heads to college this month!
