A great day of advanced clinical education and hands-on training!
Dr. Periklis Proussaefs recently taught a Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) course for fellow dentists through the California Institute of Dental Education (CIDE)®.
The program included a live patient surgical demonstration, clinical instruction, and hands-on training focused on the use of PRF in implant dentistry, bone grafting, and surgical procedures.
PRF uses components derived from the patient’s own blood to create fibrin-based preparations that can be incorporated into a variety of surgical and regenerative procedures.
At Pacific Coast Implant Center, we believe that advanced clinical care and education go hand in hand. Teaching other dentists also means continually studying, evaluating, and refining the techniques we use in our own clinical practice.
Thank you to the doctors who participated, and congratulations on completing the program!

Advancing Patient Care Through Education
One of the most rewarding parts of my career is not only treating patients, but also having the opportunity to teach fellow dentists.
This month, I will be presenting a hands-on continuing education workshop on autologous blood concentrates (PRP, PRF, and i-PRF) through the California Institute of Dental Education (CIDE).
These biologic techniques utilize a patient's own blood to create concentrated growth factors that can support healing and are frequently incorporated into implant surgery, bone grafting, sinus augmentation, and other regenerative procedures.
At Pacific Coast Implant Center, these protocols are part of our daily clinical practice when appropriate for each individual patient. We believe that continuing education and evidence-based dentistry help us provide the highest standard of care.
The workshop includes lectures, hands-on laboratory training, and a live patient demonstration, allowing participating dentists to gain practical experience they can bring back to their own practices.
Whether you are one of our patients or a fellow clinician, thank you for your trust and for being part of our journey toward continual learning and better patient care.
If you are a dentist interested in learning more about the workshop, we would be happy to provide additional information.

This weekend, I had the privilege of teaching another 3-day Adult Oral Sedation Certification course for dentists from across California.
As much as I enjoy treating patients, I also enjoy sharing the knowledge and experience I have gained over the past three decades with fellow dental professionals. It is incredibly rewarding to see colleagues expand their skills so they can help more patients receive comfortable dental care.
At Pacific Coast Implant Center, education has always been an important part of our philosophy. By staying actively involved in teaching and continuing education, we remain committed to bringing the latest techniques, technology, and evidence-based care to our own patients.
Thank you to all the dentists who attended. It was a pleasure spending the weekend with you, and I wish you continued success as you begin offering oral sedation in your practices.
We look forward to continuing to serve our patients with the same commitment to excellence, education, and compassionate care that has always been the foundation of our practice.

Digital dentistry continues to transform the way we restore smiles.
At Pacific Coast Implant Center, we routinely combine advanced digital technologies—including 3D imaging, intraoral scanning, digital photography, and photogrammetry—to help design immediate fixed teeth for patients undergoing full-arch implant treatment.
This digital workflow allows us to plan treatment with exceptional precision while improving comfort and efficiency throughout the process. In many cases, patients can leave surgery with a beautiful set of fixed temporary teeth the very same day.
Every patient is unique, and technology is only one part of the equation. Experience, careful planning, and attention to detail remain essential to achieving predictable, long-lasting results.
We are also excited to share that our digital full-arch workflow is currently being prepared for publication in a scientific journal. We look forward to sharing more as our research progresses.
It is an exciting time in implant dentistry, and we are grateful to bring these advances to our patients every day.
📞 If you are missing most or all of your teeth and would like to learn whether full-arch dental implants are right for you, contact Pacific Coast Implant Center to schedule a consultation.

🦷 3D-Printed Models: More Than Just a Cool Gadget
Digital dentistry continues to transform the way we diagnose, plan, and communicate treatment.
One application we use routinely is 3D-printed dental models. They allow us to:
✔️ Verify the accuracy of our digital workflow
✔️ Improve communication with patients and referring doctors
✔️ Better visualize complex implant and restorative cases
✔️ Enhance treatment planning before the patient ever sits in the chair
Whether for a single implant, a full-arch rehabilitation, or a complex restorative case, having a physical model in hand often provides insights that are difficult to appreciate on a computer screen alone.
Technology is most valuable when it improves patient care—not simply because it is new.
At Pacific Coast Implant Center, we continue to integrate digital technologies that help us deliver more predictable, efficient, and precise treatment.
What role do 3D-printed models play in your practice? We'd love to hear how you're incorporating digital workflows into your everyday dentistry.

One of the most common questions we hear after full-arch dental implant treatment is:
"Doctor, when can I eat normally again?"
The good news is that most patients can enjoy a much better quality of life immediately after treatment. However, it is important to remember that the implants are still healing beneath the surface.
During the healing period, we recommend a soft-food diet to protect the implants while they integrate with the bone. A simple rule of thumb is this: if you can easily cut the food with the side of a plastic fork, it is usually a safe choice.
We know it can be tempting to test your new teeth with steak, nuts, or crunchy foods, but patience during healing is one of the keys to long-term success.
Our goal is not only to give you a beautiful smile, but also to help ensure your implants remain healthy and functional for many years to come.
If you are considering full-arch dental implants and have questions about the recovery process, our team is always happy to help.

A new smile. A new beginning.
One of the most rewarding parts of implant dentistry is seeing a patient walk into our office feeling discouraged about their teeth and leave with renewed confidence.
For this patient, we placed six dental implants and delivered an immediate fixed full-arch prosthesis using our All-on-Digital™ workflow. Thanks to modern digital technology, we were able to carefully plan every step, capture highly accurate digital records, and provide fixed teeth immediately after implant placement.
What patients often see is the final smile.
What they do not see are the countless details happening behind the scenes: advanced digital planning, photogrammetry, intraoral scanning, 3D printing, and close collaboration between the surgical, restorative, and laboratory teams. Every step matters, and every detail contributes to a predictable result.
There is nothing quite like watching someone smile without hesitation for the first time in years.
We are grateful for the trust our patients place in us and proud to be able to offer advanced solutions that can help restore comfort, function, and confidence.

Exciting news!

We are proud to announce that ALL-ON-DIGITAL® is now an officially registered trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

But what does that mean for patients?

ALL-ON-DIGITAL® represents our commitment to using advanced digital technology to replace missing teeth with greater precision, comfort, and efficiency. By combining photogrammetry, digital scanning, photography, and computer-guided design, we can create full-arch implant restorations without many of the traditional impression techniques patients often find uncomfortable.

Digital technology allows us to plan treatment more accurately, communicate better with our laboratory team, and deliver beautiful, functional smiles with a streamlined process.

For patients suffering from failing teeth, loose dentures, or missing teeth, today's technology offers solutions that were simply not possible a few years ago.

We are excited about the future of implant dentistry and honored to bring these advanced digital solutions to our patients here in Ventura County and beyond.

📞 If you would like to learn more about full-arch dental implants and whether ALL-ON-DIGITAL® treatment may be right for you, contact Pacific Coast Implant Center to schedule a consultation.

IV sedation or oral sedation for dental implants—what’s the difference?
💊 Oral sedation: a pill that helps you relax (lighter level)
💉 IV sedation: deeper, faster, and adjustable in real time
For implant procedures, especially more involved cases, IV sedation often offers greater comfort and control.
Every patient is different—we help you choose what’s safest and most appropriate for your procedure.

Very honored and genuinely grateful to share that the California Institute of Dental Education has officially been re-approved by ADA CERP for another 4-year term.
When I first started teaching continuing education courses, the goal was never simply to “offer CE credits.” The vision was to build something meaningful — a program based on real clinical experience, scientific evidence, transparency, and the willingness to openly share both successes and lessons learned over decades in dentistry.
Receiving ADA CERP recognition again is deeply meaningful because it represents one of the highest levels of continuing education recognition in dentistry. It validates that the educational standards, structure, and integrity of our programs continue to meet rigorous national expectations.
What many people do not see behind the scenes are the countless hours involved. Building and maintaining a recognized educational institution is not something delegated to a large corporate team. It involves years of personal dedication, curriculum development, documentation, clinical preparation, organization, and constant refinement. It has truly been a labor of passion.
As someone who has spent many years in private practice, implant dentistry, surgery, bone grafting research, and university teaching, I have always believed that education should remain practical, honest, and clinically relevant — not simply theoretical. That philosophy continues to guide every course we provide.
Most importantly, thank you to all the dentists who have trusted us with their continuing education over the years. Your support, participation, and confidence are what made this possible.
We look forward to continuing to teach, learn, and grow together in the years ahead.
