With Earth Day 🌎 just around the corner, we’re proud to spotlight the Tiny Changes Recycling Box at our office!✨

Instead of tossing old or unused clear aligners in the trash, SoWA Orthodontics is teaming up with and to reduce dental waste. The specialized process ensures your aligners are diverted from landfills and given a second life.

What else goes in the box? ♻️ Our team also uses this program to recycle orthodontic materials that municipal recycling service can’t handle, like printed models and sterilization bags. These plastics are cleaned and upcycled into recycled lumber, shipping pallets, and even playgrounds!

When you choose SoWA Orthodontics, you’re helping build a greener tomorrow. 🌱🦷

How exciting to witness the successful completion of the NASA Artemis II mission this past week!🚀 For this week’s technology spotlight, we are highlighting Nitinol, an alloy used in both aerospace programs and orthodontics.

Originally developed for NASA, this superelastic, shape-memory alloy is the material of the main orthodontic wires we use for braces treatment. Nitinol or NiTi wires move teeth into position gently and efficiently by “remembering” their original shape. This same alloy is also used in various pieces of space equipment, including the tires on the Moon and Mars Rovers! 🌕🛰️
