What can you expect when you come in for a dental appointment? 🤔🦷

First, one of our Registered Dental Hygienists will remove tartar and plaque from your teeth. They'll then polish your teeth to remove stains and plaque that aren't removed during brushing and scaling.

Then, your dentist will evaluate your mouth's health through X-rays and a thorough examination. This helps your dentist check for tooth decay, tumors, cysts, bone loss, oral cancer, gum disease, and periodontal disease.

Yep–all of those. That's why it's so important to come in for your regular check-ups! The extra shine on your teeth is always a bonus, too. 😁✨

Did you know that toothbrushes used to be "chewsticks?" 🤔 It's true!

Around 3500 BC, ancient Egyptians would chew on one side of a stick until it became slightly frayed to use as a brush on their teeth, while the other end was sharpened and used as a toothpick. The toothbrush had a few iterations before becoming what we know it as today. It wasn't until 1938 that a toothbrush was manufactured with nylon bristles and a plastic handle! 🦷💡
