To our patients:

September 14, 2025 marked the ten-year anniversary of Neighborhood Family Dentistry! It has been an absolute privilege providing your dental care for the past decade and we value your trust. We absolutely love what we do and are thrilled that you chose us as your dental office! Thank you!!

However as we all know, change is inevitable and with a heavy heart we share the news that our dental hygienist, Hannah Fellows, RDH, will no longer be with us! Hannah came to our practice first as a patient, joined our staff in 2016 right out of hygiene school, and has been on our team for nine years! She was instrumental in growing our practice and earning your trust with her wit and charm. While we are devastated to lose her, we are excited for her to have an opportunity that will bring her closer to home and allow her to have more time with her family. Please join us in wishing Hannah the best as she embarks on this new endeavor.

We are pleased, however, to introduce you to Jessica Arevalo, RDH! Jessica lives in New Hartford with her family and has been working as a dental hygienist for 25 years. A 2000 graduate of Broome Community College, Jess has the knowledge, skill and capability to ensure you will be in good hands. She is gentle, kind and bright, and will likely impress you with her abilities. In addition, she and Dr. Brown have been running buddies since before COVID, so we know she’s cool!

If you have a current appointment scheduled with Hannah, please know that as of October 6th, 2025, your treatment will be transferred to Jessica’s schedule. The date and time of your appointment will remain the same, so please be sure to come as you normally would and join us in welcoming Jess to our team!!!

Thank you in advance for your understanding of our current circumstances. Please know that we always strive to provide you with exemplary service and care and look forward to continuing to do so as we move forward.

Very Sincerely Yours,

Dr. Erin Brown and Staff

Did you know that your back teeth are at higher risk for cavities? Yep, those groves and ridges in your back molars make them more susceptible to trapped food particles and plaque. That’s one reason why it’s so important to maintain a proper and consistent dental routine. Not sure what one looks like? Give us a call. We can help with that! https://bit.ly/2PYNgND

With bittersweet emotions, NFD announces the retirement of the matriarch of our practice, Brenda Heintz. Brenda has worked in various roles of the dental field throughout her entire career, and has been with our office since day one. Her knowledge and expertise has been a driving force in building our practice to be the amazing place that it is today. Brenda makes it her business to personally ensure each and every patient is made welcome from the moment they walk through the door and provides guidance and care through every step of their treatment. Deemed by the other staff members as “Queen Mother”, she keeps us all in line and everything running smoothly. Brenda will be impossible to replace, but is incredibly deserving of taking this next step in her life’s journey. Please join us in celebrating Brenda. ❤️❤️❤️

Ready-to-eat foods are convenient, but they can be a poor option for your oral health. Consuming fresh, crunchy produce not only contains more healthy fiber, but it's also the best choice for your teeth. Chewing fresh produce instead of consuming rather "mushy" or finely sliced processed foods gets your jaw working and keeps your oral health in check!
