I am so spoiled and so lucky to be surrounded by my team! The girls surprised me with different seasonal coffees and all of my favorite things this week! 🥒 pickle dip, all things 🎃 caramel brownies and cheesecake… hello diabetic coma!

I love my work family and friends; Shawnae, Taryn, Lauren and all of our high school work study students and thank you for cheering me on in studies and your faith and dedication to our mission❤️ it is such a blessing to be surrounded with you each and every day!

Although we all strive for perfection, this ain’t perfection, it’s progress and the current best version of my son. My firstborn started his airway journey at the 12th percentile on the pediatric growth chart when he was 10. I thought he was stubborn (being labeled as obstinate) about his eating, and I darn near caused an eating disorder in a young boy😢

Then I started studying early interceptive so I could help young people not get like my adult patients. The lightbulb 💡 came on!

My son was deficient in his upper jaw, therefore his lower jaw was trapped and his airway was obstructed. He was and had adapted to a lateral swallow, couldn’t mush his food up and therefore didn’t like certain textures and foods!

We treated most of the above, and we have a different human! Different behaviors, different energy and different deserve level (for both of us!)

How appropriate that the ICCMO community gathered for our annual meeting in Atlanta this week, given that today is Global Day!

From airway related PT, myofunctional exercises, uplock tongue posture to DECA Dental lasers for soft tissue management in and upper airway resistance management - we had it all!

And for those with these and other conditions that trigger the autonomic nervous system, Dr L looks forward to helping you with TENS treatment and now offering a sphenopalatine ganglion block with no needles 💪

Leaders in gathered in Atlanta this week for the Annual International College of Cranial Orthopedics meeting, and our very own Dr. L passed her Fellowship exam and is brainstorming for her Masters Thesis👏

We are thrilled to introduce new techniques such as the Forwardontics uplocker and physiologic pacifiers to promote instead of and correct swallowing for correct craniofacial growth in kids and improved and sleep for all!
