But we wouldn’t want to live anywhere else than where we have our FREEDOM, job opportunities and are a melting pot of cultures and languages and can teach our kids to be compassionate, work hard and never lose sight of their dreams.

Many parents have picked up on the fact that waiting until 12 or until their children have their entire permanent dentition can be detrimental to their health and When patients ask us what phase 1 of should look like, we ask questions such as ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

* Does your child ?
* Does your child wet the bed?
* Can your child breathe through his or her nose?
* Can your child sit still when he or she receives direction?
* Is your child behind in math, science or reading?

The first question is the most important to an . If a child cannot breathe through her nose, she is not a good candidate for functional appliances until that milestone is achieved with expansion

If a child can breathe through her nose, then functional appliances can be used to grow with the child as they will allow the child’s body to heal itself, and nasion and jaw to develop in the correct direction, healing the body and making room for future teeth

One of the reasons we know the body is capable of growth corrections with nasal breathing and correct posturing of the jaw, is because the body has an innate way of responding when we are suffering. thumbsucking is an example of one of these mechanisms. Thumbsuckers know that their upper jaw is not developing and advancing the way it should, and the thumb puts pressure on the palate and upper jaw in a way similar to a reverse pull facemask utilized by orthodontists

*such a great palatal split and excellent that now we get to fit the pieces together with alignment, and fine tuning
*Little Sis still has upper incisors inclined towards her tongue that are trapping her lower jaw and obstructing her airway👎🏻
*GI issues and tooth grinding (not to mention acidic breath!) gone
*Nasal breathing NOT
*Less fidgeting
*Better sleep = more growth hormone 💪
*Signs of hyperactivity GONE (unless it’s a ‘yes day’ with 🍭!)

And to think Dr L’s Early Interceptive PROActive orthodontic journey started over ten years ago with a first born who couldn’t mash his food up, enjoy or get pleasure from his 🥘 due to a reverse swallow. He wasn’t obstinate, he had a ln airway and myofunctional (muscle disorder)
