PSA: Bleeding gums are not normal, except when we poke around for no reason 😜. Bleeding while brushing and flossing is a sign of an underlying issue. That underlying issue can be gingivitis, periodontitis, or something worse. The point is, visit your dentist and hygienist regularly, so that we can poke around to find out!

Visit your dentist regularly, practice proper oral hygiene, and allow us to catch things when they require simple solutions. Maintaining your natural teeth AND your dental restorations with the same diligence can prevent more costly issues.

A tip from the pros. Brushing your teeth immediately after eating or drinking something acidic can lead to accelerated tooth wear due to a low pH environment. Wait about 30 minutes, so that your saliva has time to buffer the acids.
