We continue our Spooky Tooth Fact finding mission today with fusion of teeth. What is fusion. Fusion is when 2 teeth fuse into 1 tooth. It is impossible to floss, increases risk of cavities and may need a sealant in the groove to protect it from getting a cavity. How common is it? About 1 in 200 kids have fusion. Most of the time we just monitor the tooth but it may need to be extracted early because it can cause the permanent tooth to come in crooked. This spooky tooth happening is just one of the many things that Dr. Patrick will look for during his exam. Schedule one today if you haven’t already to prevent those bad tooth bugs from causing any harm!

Meet Dr. Miller, one of our fabulous dentists at Storybook Smiles!

Hi, my name is Clint Miller and I am one of the dentists at Storybook Smiles. I am super blessed to have a job that I love coming to each and every day! I have a medical background, having worked as a physician assistant for years before pursuing dentistry, and I often incorporate that skill set into treatment decisions when needed. My faith in Jesus Christ is the foundation I have relied on in all aspects of life. When I am not at work, some of my favorite activities include gardening, swimming, hiking, kayaking, fishing and camping.

We’re starting a new series on “Spooky Tooth Tips” for the month of October. Our first spooky tooth type is a geminated tooth. What is gemination? Gemination happens when one tooth splits into 2 teeth. It is impossible to floss, increases risk of cavities and may need a sealant in the groove to protect it from getting a cavity. How common is it? Well about 1 in 100 kids have gemination. Most of the time we just monitor the tooth but it may need to be extracted early because it can cause the permanent tooth to come in crooked. This spooky tooth happening is just one of the many things that Dr. Patrick will look for during his exam. Schedule one today if you haven’t already to prevent those venomous tooth villains from causing any harm!
