Too often, we wait until the teeth are crowded before talking about treatment. But crowding is usually a sign that the jaws haven’t developed enough space for the teeth to come in naturally.
By looking at growth early, we can often help guide proper jaw development, support better airway health, and create room for permanent teeth, without immediately jumping to extractions.
Early intervention isn’t about doing more treatment. It’s about understanding the root cause and giving kids the best foundation for healthy growth.

Not your average dental office ✨
Dentistry should feel calm, modern, and comfortable from the moment you walk in. We believe the patient experience starts long before you ever sit in the chair, which is why we designed our waiting room with our patients in mind—cozy, welcoming, and intentionally calming from the start. Watching a baby finally thrive after a tongue tie release never gets old 🤍
Hearing this mama share the changes she noticed like improved feeding, better sleep, less frustration, and a happier baby, is exactly why we’re so passionate about looking at the root cause, not just the symptoms.
Proper oral function matters more than most people realize, especially in those early stages of growth and development. We’re honored to walk alongside families through that journey!

When we look at a child’s smile, we’re looking at so much more than just teeth.
Early treatment with upper and lower oral expanders can help guide proper jaw growth and development while kids are still growing. By creating more space early, we can often support healthier breathing, better function, improved facial development, and a stronger foundation before traditional braces are even needed.
Instead of waiting until all the permanent teeth come in, we focus on the why behind crowding, narrow arches, mouth breathing, and bite issues because early intervention can make a lifelong difference.
Growth is happening now… and that makes childhood the perfect time to guide it.

At Mint Dental Care, we believe dentistry should go beyond treating symptoms. ✨
Whether it’s tooth grinding, crowded teeth, mouth breathing, sleep concerns, or recurring dental issues, we take the time to look at the why behind what’s happening because true health starts with understanding the root cause.
We’re especially passionate about creating a welcoming experience for families, because we know bringing multiple children to appointments can feel overwhelming. Our goal is for every patient to feel heard, cared for, and supported from the moment they walk through our doors.
Reviews like this remind us why we do what we do!

Most people think tooth grinding is just stress… but often it’s your airway trying to get your attention.
When your airway is even slightly restricted during sleep, your body doesn’t always stay fully “calm and still.” Instead, it can shift your jaw forward or trigger grinding as a reflex to open the space at the back of your throat.
It’s not random, it’s compensation.
Your teeth become the alarm system for a breathing problem happening while you’re asleep.
If you’ve been told you grind your teeth, it may be worth looking beyond the teeth… and into how you’re breathing at night.

Sometimes, breathing patterns and airway function can influence how a child’s face and jaw develop over time.
In our evaluations, we may notice patterns that can be associated with underdeveloped oral and facial structures. These can include things such as:
• Crowding or crooked teeth
• A narrower facial appearance
• Reduced midface or cheekbone support
• Dark circles under the eyes
• A gummy smile
We also evaluate facial balance and profile. One concept we look at is overall facial alignment—where, in a relaxed position, the lips are typically in line with or slightly forward of the nose-to-chin profile.
These are not used as a diagnosis on their own, but rather as part of a larger evaluation of breathing, growth, and development. Every child is unique, and these observations are always considered alongside a full clinical evaluation in our office.
